Position Highlights & Primary Responsibilities:

  • The Program Coordinator, Regional APC Lead is an Advanced Practice Clinician (NP or PA) who supports the Internal Medicine/Family Medicine service line by supporting newly hired, new graduate APC onboarding activities and advancing the care model strategy of PCP-APC panel co-management. Working under the APC Chief of IM/FM for Optum MA, this role develops and implements educational opportunities for newly hired APCs, augments mentoring processes at the site level, fosters APC community building while maintaining at least a 0.5 FTE clinical practice.

  • Leads APC onboarding, orientation, and mentoring in collaboration with central and site leadership.

  • Contributes to the APC clinical learning series, including curriculum development, presenter recruitment and facilitation of lectures.

  • Conducts regular check ins with new APC hires to support the successful transition into practice.

  • Provides coaching for APC mentors

  • Participates in the design and implementation of ongoing APC skill building forums.

  • Partners with the APC Chief of IM/FM to build regional and central APC community building initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Physician Assistant (PA) – Must have national certification and Commonwealth of Massachusetts licensure as a Physician Assistant OR Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Must be nationally certified as an FNP or AGNP, graduate from an accredited master’s degree NP program and possess state licensure to practice as an APRN.

  • Current license to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

  • Must possess and maintain, or be eligible for, Mass DPH Controlled Substance registration and DEA registration.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Minimum of 2 years of specialty specific and/or ambulatory experience to include chronic disease management preferred.

    Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $115,000 – $172,500. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
