Under general supervision, performs expanded and advanced level medical assistant duties including but not limited to identifying and resolving concerns regarding patient satisfaction, patient flow, and compliance with procedures and guidelines. Demonstrating a high level of competence and independence. Provides back-up coverage for support staff. Works to improve clinical efficiencies of the operation by overseeing efficient flow of patient care communication with the care team and generating clinical reports as appropriate. Provides direct clinical and clerical support to care team.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensures patients’ electronic medical record (EMR) is updated with medical information, including recent testing and consultations
- Keeps patients informed of clinic visit status, unforeseen delays, and other relevant information.
- Generates correspondence typically of a clinical nature such as outreach on lab work or patient education letters
- May produce clinical reports for operational or other use
- Manages patient flow, access and scheduling to optimize patient appointment availability where applicable
- Ensures calls are responded to properly and that the care team receives necessary information
- Identifies and resolves concerns regarding patient satisfaction, patient flow, and compliance with procedures and guidelines. Advocates for patients as appropriate
- Identifies and assists in resolving patient concerns and operational difficulties
- Under supervisor direction, may adjust templates and coordinates rescheduling of patients
- Participates in care improvement activities as expected, such as Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs), Value Stream Analyses (VSAs), and Managing of Daily Improvements (MDIs)
- Trains and orients new staff as needed. May also be involved in interviewing and on-boarding of new staff
- Provides back-up coverage for other support staff as necessary
- May represent department on groups and teams related to upgrades of the electronic medical record
- Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 1+ years of hands-on clinical experience as Medical Assistant, Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), or EMT
- EMR experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite products (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Reliable home internet and a dedicated home workspace
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant
- 3+ years of hands-on clinical experience as Medical Assistant, Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), or EMT
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.74 to $31.63 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable
