Location: 50 Gold Star Blvd, Worcester MA 01605

Schedule: Full time, 38.75 hours/weekly, Monday through Friday

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Escort patients to treatment areas and assists in positioning and proper draping techniques
  • Utilizes appropriate patient transfer techniques when assisting with rehabilitation services
  • Utilizes appropriate treatment implementation based on therapist plan of care for therapeutic hot/cold modalities, and other functions consistent with his/her competencies
  • Maintains appropriate stocking supplies in all rehabilitation treatment areas including taking inventory, ordering supplies, etc.
  • Maintains appropriate inventory of linen in all treatment areas and contacts vendor if supply is over/under
  • Prepares patient treatment areas including cleaning and compliance with infection control policies
  • Monitors temperatures and monthly cleaning of hot slash cold pack and paraffin machines
  • Monitors Automated External Defibrillator (AED) log and Oxygen (O2) supply logs daily
  • Maintains appearance of gym areas and ensures that rehabilitation equipment is clean and ready to use
  • Cleans toys in the pediatric treatment rooms in compliance with infection control policies provides multifaceted functions in areas, which include clinical clerical secretarial and reception functions
  • Monitors all supplies in the department for expiration dates
  • Maintains confidentiality of all medical information
  • Assists in the organization and effective functioning of the rehabilitation unit
  • Complies with health and safety requirements and with Optum Health and Safety inspections
  • Complies with established departmental policies procedures and objectives
  • Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs seminars, etc.
  • Attends a variety of meetings conferences seminars and online training as required or directed
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of various software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Able to assist with patient transfers, move medium sized boxes, move laundry bags and place into carts, transport patients in wheelchair, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of Rehabilitation Aid certification or a MA certification program
  • 1+ years of Rehabilitation Aide experience
  • Previous healthcare experience
  • Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology related to physical rehabilitation

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position

The hourly range for this role is $16.00 to $24.42 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable.
