Description

As a Proposal Writer, you'll be part of a creative team that develops and writes about MEDITECH's story to the audience of prospective customers. The main aspect of this role is answering questionnaires from healthcare organizations of all sizes and specialties. These questionnaires are called many things — Request for Proposal, Request for Information, Request for Quote, Software Specification Survey, etc. — we simplify and call them RFx. The writer responds to RFx, maintains standard content for RFx responses, oversees the RFx process from start to finish, and creates written marketing collateral.

Here, you'll have the opportunity to use your MEDITECH knowledge and experience in a new, exciting way. As part of the pre-sales cycle at our company, you'll be one of the first to learn about our latest and greatest offerings. And you’ll persuasively write about these offerings to new customers or existing customers looking to move to Expanse. We're a small, tenured team of MEDITECHers looking for someone with a passion for writing and copyediting along with exceptional attention to detail and adaptability skills to join us.

This role will be focused on the technical aspects of MEDITECH — from MIS to interoperability to MaaS Hosting and Cybersecurity. Background in these areas is not necessary to apply, we will support you in your learning journey. You’ll be onboarded into the group through a team-oriented training program and will shadow the current technical writer. This position involves close collaboration with Subject Matter Experts in these technical topics.

As a member of our Marketing team, your job would involve:

  • Positioning MEDITECH’s products in written format to be included in Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
  • Researching responses to functional questions and answering all questions accurately and completely by the established deadlines
  • Managing, on a rotation basis, the RFP from start to finish through close collaboration with Marketing Consultants and all responsible staff to position MEDITECH to support the sales effort
  • Providing direct and accurate responses to a specific set of product-related questions and incorporating the appropriate level of detail tailored to the site’s requirements and expectations to position MEDITECH solutions to support sales effort
  • Understanding how the software works and the benefit it provides in helping the healthcare organization address industry and organizational initiatives
  • Creating and updating standard product content and literature, including standard proposal responses, functionality briefs, and flyers, that are used to position MEDITECH products to customers and prospective customers
  • Staying well-educated on relevant products by attending continuing education sessions and training
  • Creating and maintaining standard responses to commonly asked RFP questions in an internal Wiki database
  • Coordinating all responses into one cohesive document, reviewing the final content, and producing a professional proposal, whether electronically, in hard copy, or both, during proposal management
  • Keeping up-to-date on the latest MEDITECH initiatives and industry issues and applying this knowledge to RFP responses and other written materials
  • Reviewing tasks and features list to ensure customers are getting the most accurate answers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or associate degree preferred and/or 2-3 years applicable work and/or military experience
  • Ability to understand and clearly articulate product functionality
  • Exceptional writing and grammatical skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle large volumes of questions and manage multiple overlapping deadlines
  • Ability to position MEDITECH solutions to support sales efforts
  • Ability to think outside the box to identify ways our software can be used or modified to meet unique site requirements
  • Flexibility to handle multiple projects and changing priorities
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Strong research skills including the ability to clearly align our software to customer and industry needs.

Hiring salary range: $52,800 - $63,000

Actual salary will be determined based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

This is a hybrid role which includes a blend of in-office and remote work as designated by the management team.
