A contracted Registered Nurse (RN) position is available at an elementary school district serving Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 8th grade students in Thousand Oaks, CA. This role offers the opportunity to provide vital nursing care within an educational setting from August 18, 2025, through June 17, 2026. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Key Responsibilities: Deliver general nursing services across district schools. Manage and support students with diabetes, including carb counting tailored to young children. Collaborate closely with school nurses and healthcare staff to address diverse medical needs. Provide care for students with specialized medical requirements, including those with vents and tracheostomies. Desired Qualifications and Experience: Current RN license with demonstrated experience in school nursing. Strong background in diabetic care, especially for pediatric patients. Vent and trach care experience or certification is highly preferred. Previous experience working within school settings. Bilingual skills are highly valued to better serve the student population. The role demands clinical expertise combined with a compassionate approach to supporting students' health and educational success. This contract position is ideal for an RN with a passion for pediatric nursing and school health services. Communicates effectively and tactfully with adult, geriatric, pediatric, and neonatal clients, recognizing their age, cultural diversity, needs, abilities and physical condition. Can be depended upon to report to work on-time, use time off appropriately, and complete annual education & medical requirements. Performs other duties as assigned by Clinical Manager/designee. Minimum Requirements: Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing required. Current State of Connecticut Practical Nurse license. One year of acute care experience required.
