At WHOOP, we’re on a mission to unlock human performance and extend healthspan. We empower our members with real-time, longitudinal health insights that help them understand how their daily choices compound over time—enabling better long-term health and lasting behavior change.
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager, AI to help shape the future of WHOOP as an intelligent, personalized health companion.
In this role, you will craft the AI experience layer and the underlying intelligence systems that power it, defining how WHOOP understands members, reasons over their data, and delivers insights that are accurate, empathetic, and actionable.
You will work at the intersection of AI, product, and behavior change, partnering with AI Engineers, Data Scientists, and Performance Science to build systems that transform raw health data into meaningful, personalized coaching experiences.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define and evolve 0 to 1 AI experiences across WHOOP, including proactive insights, coaching surfaces, and interactive experiences
- Ensure outputs are not just technically correct, but clear, motivating, and personalized to each member
- Define how member context (physiology, behaviors, goals, history) is translated into meaningful, personalized insights
- Partner with Data Science and Performance Science to determine which signals and patterns drive the highest impact on health outcomes
- Design and iterate on AI systems (including agents, tools, and reasoning layers) that analyze data, generate insights, and deliver coaching
- Partner with AI Engineering to define system architecture, including orchestration, tool usage, memory, and fallback behaviors
- Drive a roadmap that balances foundational AI capabilities (data models, memory, evaluation systems) with high-impact member experiences
- Identify opportunities where new capabilities unlock step-function improvements in personalization and coaching quality.
- Turn ambiguous problems (e.g., “members don’t understand recovery” or “coaching feels generic”) into clearly defined product opportunities, system designs, and shipped experiences
- Define clear inputs, outputs, and success metrics for both systems and features
- Establish what “good” looks like across AI outputs: correctness, personalization, actionability, tone, and trust
- Build and own evaluation frameworks using qualitative and quantitative signals to drive continuous improvement
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5–8+ years of product management experience, with at least 1+ year working on AI/ML or LLM-powered products
- Experience shipping consumer-facing AI features, with a strong intuition for what makes experiences useful, trustworthy, and engaging
- Strong understanding of LLM systems, including prompt design, RAG, tool usage, and system tradeoffs
- Comfortable collaborating deeply with engineers on system design without needing to build models yourself
- Proven ability to design end-to-end product experiences, not just underlying systems
- Strong instincts for how to translate complex data into simple, actionable user experiences
- Exceptional writing and communication skills, with a deep understanding of how language shapes user trust, motivation, and behavior change
- Experience designing conversational or AI-driven experiences (e.g., prompts, coaching narratives, UX flows)
- Ability to break down ambiguous problems into structured systems, workflows, and product requirements
- Experience thinking across platform + product layers, and how shared capabilities scale across use cases
- Ability to define success metrics, evaluate system performance, and diagnose failures
- Strong judgment in balancing short-term delivery with long-term system quality and scalability
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and driving clarity in fast-moving environments
- Motivated by building products that improve people’s health and lives
