Position Overview:
The Strategic Projects Lead is a pivotal leadership role within the Specialty Care Finance organization, reporting directly to Ulrich Otte, the Global Head of Finance, Specialty Care. This position represents a unique opportunity to shape the future of one of Sanofi’s most dynamic and strategically important business units.
Specialty Care delivers $23B+ in annual sales with $4B in operating expenses, spanning a complex global portfolio across multiple therapeutic franchises. As the organization continues to grow and evolve, the finance function must elevate its support of the operating model, drive efficiency, strengthen execution, and enable the business to meet increasingly complex demands.
This role sits at the intersection of strategic vision, operational excellence, and cross‑functional leadership. The Strategic Projects Lead will drive high‑impact initiatives that define how Specialty Care operates in the future—from process optimization and digital enablement to operational effectiveness and cost transformation.
This is a strategic leadership position that requires the ability to influence senior stakeholders, navigate a large matrixed environment, and deliver measurable business outcomes. The role offers broad exposure across global finance, executive leadership, and cross‑business partners.

Main Responsibilities:
Lead end‑to‑end delivery of strategic finance initiatives, from problem definition and business case development through implementation and measurable value realization.

Drive efficiency and ROI initiatives as an immediate priority, identifying, designing, and executing cost reduction, productivity, and process optimization opportunities across Specialty Care.
Identify 50M+ of OPEX savings in year 1. 90% SPC adherence to BO processes/guidelines (i.e. meetings and events, GTMC).
Partner with finance leadership and key business stakeholders to define and prioritize the project portfolio aligned with strategic and operational objectives.
Establish robust project governance, KPIs, dashboards, and measurement frameworks to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective decision‑making.
Collaborate across Specialty Care, Global Finance, Digital, and enabling functions to accelerate adoption of new processes, tools, and technologies.
Champion continuous improvement and lead change management efforts to ensure sustainability of project outcomes.
Prepare executive‑ready materials and provide regular updates to senior leadership on project progress, risks, dependencies, and financial impact.
About You
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in finance, strategy, business transformation, or project/program management.
Proven track record of leading complex, cross‑functional initiatives with measurable business impact.
Demonstrated experience driving efficiency, productivity, or cost‑reduction outcomes.
Strong project and program management capabilities; able to operate with autonomy and strategic judgment.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence senior leaders and simplify complex issues.
Experience operating within a global, matrixed organization.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications (Recommended to Add):
Experience in biopharma, healthcare, or other highly regulated industries.
Expertise in finance process (FP&A, forecasting, budgeting, OPEX governance, etc.).
Familiarity with digital finance tools (e.g., Power BI, automation, advanced analytics).
Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or other transformation certifications.
MBA or advanced degree.

The salary range for this position is:
$161,250.00 - $232,916.66All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs. Additional benefits information can be found through the LINK.
