About the Job
We are looking for candidates for the position of Research Associate in the Bioprocess Engineering Technical Pilot Plant (BPE-TPP) Downstream team. BPE-TPP is responsible for the execution of large-scale manufacturing of biological molecules to support early and late stage development processes and works closely with the Upstream and Downstream development groups. BPE-TPP delivers biological products used in support of early development for First in Human molecules and late stage biological development batches including process confirmation/consistency. TPP supports/executes technology innovations for process improvement working with development groups on innovation projects.

Main responsibilities:
Design and execute purification unit operations.
Interact with project teams to meet goals in relation to manufacturing drug substance and technology transfer.
Operate downstream purification equipment such as chromatography and tangential flow filtration skids.
Maintain adequate levels of supplies and consumables.
Perform routine safety inspections of equipment and lab areas.
Create standard operating procedures, batch records and technical reports. Support evaluation of new purification technologies.
Ensure equipment readiness through scheduling and coordination of PM and calibration activities.
About You
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, or related field, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in downstream protein manufacturing processes, ideally at pilot scale.
Understanding of chromatography modalities such as IEX, HIC, affinity, and multimodal.
Ability to work within a team and set priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a protein purification lab or pilot plant.
Familiarity with GMP or GLP.
Experience operating and troubleshooting downstream unit operations (Columns, UF/DF, TFF, VI, VF).
Experience with single use downstream technology.
Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication, an innovative problem solver and proven ability to recognize and recommend areas for improvement
Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement – at the individual, department and organizational level.
Ability to effectively interact with a variety of communication and working styles.
Ability to gown and gain entry to manufacturing areas.
Ability to work flexible hours if needed.
High level of scientific curiosity.

The salary range for this position is:
$64.500,00 - $93.166,66All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs. Additional benefits information can be found through the LINK.
