We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Senior Scientist with experience in rare muscle and/or neuromuscular disorders with expertise in mechanisms impacting disease progression, including inflammation, fibrosis, atrophy and regeneration. The successful candidate will bring a broad range of in vitro, in vivo and/or in silico skills to support current pipeline programs and lead the exploration of novel pathways and targets for initiation of new programs. This is an exciting opportunity to make an early and meaningful impact on therapies for patients with devastating neuromuscular diseases.

The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying novel therapeutic opportunities and expanding our pipeline into new indications. They will contribute across research, clinical, and business development efforts, helping to align scientific insights with strategic goals. Main Responsibilities:

  • Apply scientific expertise and judgement to design, execute, analyze and document in vitro and in vivo studies to support pipeline and exploratory programs.

  • Explore disease biology to identify and validate new targets and pathways for preclinical programs.

  • Design and conduct mechanism-of-action and proof-of-concept studies to evaluate therapeutic strategies.

  • Implement cutting-edge methodologies and leverage internal technology platforms to strengthen data packages.

  • Lead and coordinate outsourced research activities with CROs.

  • Initiate and support on-going collaborations with academic partners.

  • Maintain high-quality data documentation.

  • Prepare and present data in internal meetings and at external conferences.

  • Contribute to the preparation of publications, patents, and technical reports.

About You

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

  • Ph.D. in a scientific field with relevant experience in industry or academia; or a master’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience; or bachelor’s degree with 6+ years relevant experience.

  • A degree in Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, or a related discipline is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of skeletal muscle and/or neuromuscular biology.

  • Experience studying mechanisms of muscle pathology in neuromuscular diseases (e.g., inflammation, fibrosis, atrophy, regeneration).

  • Hands-on expertise in molecular, cellular, and biochemical methods, assay development, and in vitro and in vivo disease models.

  • Experience preparing high-quality documents including experimental protocols, SOPs, technical reports, and presentations.

  • Track record of significant contributions to research projects and scientific publications.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with cell-based models for muscle biology (primary/immortalized myoblasts, satellite cells).

  • Expertise with animal models of muscle disease (dystrophic models, muscle injury model).

  • Experience performing muscle functional measurements in rodents.

  • Hands-on experience performing single nuclei isolation from skeletal muscle for single-nuc RNASeq.

  • Computational biology experience in RNA-Seq and/or single nucleus/cell RNA-Seq data analysis.

The salary range for this position is:

$100,500.00 - $145,166.66
