The Co-Op position is part of Global Manufacturing Science, Analytics, and Technology (MSAT) and is based at the biologics hub in Framingham, MA. This position is a fixed term Co-op opportunity with the following duration: January 2026 – June 2026. Candidates must be available 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.

The Team is responsible for providing laboratory-based technical support to Sanofi biologics. The Team recently designed a state-of-the-art laboratory with capabilities to support small-scale models of the commercial cell culture and purification operations, as well as analytical testing.

Main Responsibilities:

The Process Science team member will:

  • Learn and execute purification experiments on chromatography and filtration systems

  • Learn and execute analytical work such as UV spectrophotometry for protein concentration and HPLC (high performance liquid chromatography) for product quality

  • Design and execute experiments using small-scale models, analyze and interpret results, and recommend additional experiments. Utilize this knowledge to expand process understanding and drive improvements in the commercial manufacturing operations including increasing yields and improving process robustness/reliability

  • Apply design space knowledge to support effective investigations and root cause analysis

  • Use scientific principles and professional practices to solve a range of complex problems in creative and practical ways

  • Author protocols, technical reports, and data analysis summaries

About You

Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or relevant field at an accredited college or university with the expectation that you will complete your current degree by the Spring of 2028

  • Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40hrs/week, Monday-Friday, for the full duration of the co-op/internship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Effective communication & presentation skills

  • Experience in purification/filtration

  • Mathematical modeling / reaction (enzymatic) modeling experience
