Responsibilities

Digital Product Owner – Biologics Discovery GDB core platform

The Product owner directly contributes to the R&D transformation by bringing digital expertise and to the organisation to accelerate the delivery of M1 and M2 candidate thru Biologics Discovery GDB core foundation system.

The position is based in US and reports to the Product Line Leader for Biologics Discovery in Digital Research, Early Development and CMC team. (S)He holds the accountability and responsibility to deliver a tailored core product that delivers business value, every sprint. (S)He will build and maintain with Program line owner a network R&D business stakeholders to prioritize Large Molecule research needs of innovation support and process harmonization across organization.

Biologics Discovery Product Line provides support to Large Molecule Research, a key pillar of Research at Sanofi. We are aiming to:

  • Enable Large Molecule Research organization to gain insights faster

  • Enhance collaboration throughout the scientific community beyond Large Molecule Research

  • Empower better data-driven decision of large molecule discovery and design

Genedata Biologics is our core platform for protein discovery and production workflow management, supporting data capture from M1 to M2. Main challenge is to ensures global process harmonization to avoid specific development and customization while extending usage to new scientific teams.

Scope of responsibility

(S)he manages in close collaboration with Product Line Leader the entire lifecycle of the GDB data capture product from idea, through to explore, validate, grow, sustain and eventually retire. (S)he is a digital key decision maker and accountable to the business for delivering value to their customers. (S)he conducts customer research, and work with key stakeholders across business and technology to develop and convey product vision. (S)he works with the product team members to deliver and sustain the end-to-end customer experience.

  • Owns the “Product” from a “What” and “Why” perspective (accountable for vision and requirements) for their specified product, or component

  • Works with vendor, POD members and business teams on regular basis, answering questions, addressing ambiguities, and being readily available when issues arise that could delay the project.

  • Is accountable for delivering incremental value every sprint, aligning with the overall goals from the business

  • Ensure Digital products are bringing value and competitive advantage to Business

  • Creates requirements and Jira stories

  • Continuously develops and communicates the vision to the development teams and defines the features of the system

  • Owns of roadmap and sprint priorities in alignment with the business

  • Owns backlog prioritization of work in alignment with the business

  • Ensures follow up and reporting of KPI and business value

  • Owns strategic and global view on the product evolutions and associated budget including optimization of license usage

  • Ensures that Digital Product/computerized system meets all controls to address applicable quality, regulatory (Data Privacy, GxP, SOX, etc.) and cybersecurity requirements, asking the “Why” questions from the business to understand business rules better and the “How” questions from the development team to create a better vision of what the final product should be.

  • Have good knowledge and understanding of the business workflow and be able to run some high-level demo.

Qualifications/Education & work experience

  • Degree in computing, computer science or a technical and/or scientific discipline

  • Scientific education / knowledge in biology is mandatory

  • 5 to 10 years direct work experience in R&D or manufacturing environment

  • Advanced experience working in agile methodology (Scrum/Kanban)

  • Ability to work in international environment and able to adapt to European working time (dedicated time for team exchange in the morning EST and able to take over discussions with business stakeholder during US afternoons and ensure good continuum with European mornings via status reports.

  • Team spirit and sense of collaboration are mandatory
