Service Portfolio Manager (Cambridge, MA)

Job Description

Service Portfolio Manager (Cambridge, MA)

The Service Portfolio Manager supports the execution and coordination of the services portfolio by translating market needs, technology inputs, and offer ideas into structured, actionable work. This role looks horizontally across the portfolio to identify alignment opportunities, gaps, duplication, and recommendations, while operating within the portfolio strategy and decision guardrails set by the Service Offer Portfolio Leader.

This is a hands-on execution role. The person in this role is expected to work in the details, lead cross-functional offer scrum teams, manage deliverables, and ensure service offer work follows the right quality, governance, and launch processes.

Your role:

  • Evaluate and triage new service ideas, market requests, and updates by applying portfolio guardrails to determine fit, scope, urgency, and value, and recommending whether to advance, defer, combine, or redirect work.
  • Assess the broader service portfolio to identify overlaps, gaps, and opportunities for bundling, simplification, and alignment across regions and customer segments. Recommend actions to harmonize offerings and rationalize legacy services in line with portfolio strategy.
  • Lead cross-functional scrum teams to execute offer initiatives, coordinating across product, service design, finance, commercial, delivery, IT, and other partners.
  • Ensure adherence to quality, governance, and launch processes by validating that all required inputs and dependencies are complete before progression. Monitor readiness, facilitate clean handoffs, and escalate risks that could impact launch timelines or quality.
  • Drive daily execution of portfolio initiatives by maintaining visibility to commitments, timelines, owners, and dependencies while ensuring issues are resolved quickly.
  • Continuously improve offer development processes by capturing lessons learned and identifying opportunities to enhance tools, templates, and readiness criteria. Promote scalable, repeatable ways of working while maintaining simplicity and efficiency.

You're the right fit if:

  • You’ve acquired 5+ years of experience in portfolio management, offer management, program management, product management, or service design.
  • Your skills include:
    • Strong execution discipline and ability to drive work to completion.
    • Experience leading cross-functional teams without direct authority.
    • Strong understanding of business requirements, value proposition, dependencies, and launch readiness.
    • Comfort working in operational detail across commercial, product, delivery, process, and IT topics.
    • Experience with agile or scrum team leadership (preferred).
    • Experience with service offers, managed services, subscriptions, or recurring revenue models (preferred).
    • Experience in healthcare, medtech, technology, or another complex matrixed environment (preferred).
    • Familiarity with quality, governance, and launch processes (preferred).
    • Experience creating or improving intake processes, checklists, templates, or operating rhythms (preferred).
  • You have a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, Program Management or 9+ years of above-related experience.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
  • You have strong stakeholder management and communication skills. You have the ability to push back constructively when requests are unclear, misaligned, or underdefined.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

This is an office role.
