The Strategic Portfolio Director - Ultrasound (Cambridge, MA) is responsible for managing the Ultrasound Portfolio by ensuring we are maximizing our investments using a value-based approach to invest in the right things, at the right level at the right time clearly tied back to our Strategic directives. This role helps manage a large portfolio of medium complexity, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and successful outcomes. The role impacts portfolio prioritization and leads the Portfolio Board, making informed decisions based on business strategy, implementing continuous improvements and helps streamline capacity and resource management.
Your role:
- Manage a large complex portfolio ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic goals and successful achievement of portfolio objectives and contribute to the development of objectives and principles for a business and/or region and/or function, fostering creative and effective approaches to goal attainment.
- Lead portfolio prioritization activities independently, making informed decisions based on a comprehensive understanding of the portfolio's business strategy and needs.
- Use data analytics to maintain a healthy portfolio with Project Synchronize guardrails.
- Own the portfolio's performance, implement continuous process improvements and ensuring effective execution of all portfolio management activities. This includes and is not limited to overseeing and running monthly Portfolio Board reviews with executive leadership.
- Provides strategic advice and recommendations to senior leadership on key portfolio decisions, leveraging insights and data analytics to support strategic planning and execution.
- Monitors and evaluates the performance of portfolio components using established KPIs, and data analytics, addressing issues promptly to maintain alignment with strategic objectives and drive value.
- Facilitates transparent and effective communication with stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are met and fostering engagement in portfolio decisions and activities.
- Leads special projects that impact portfolio decisions and a healthy portfolio, including choices of where not to invest.
You're the right fit if:
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Master’s Degree, preferred.
- You’ve acquired 8+ years of experience in Project/ Portfolio Management, Business Strategy and/or Program Management.
- Your skills include management of multiple projects, strong portfolio management, performance management, cross functional collaboration, and strong business ecumen.
- You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
- You’re a self starter, curious, self aware super star with the ability to manage and own your portfolio for the company’s success.
How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details
The pay range for this position in Cambridge, MA is $177,000 to $282,000.
The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
