Senior Data Scientist – Clinical Data Analytics (Cambridge, MA)
The Sr. Data Scientist will support the Acute Care Informatics business under the Philips Healthcare umbrella. You will be collaborating with a team of clinicians, epidemiologists, and computer scientists to develop new solutions for data analytics that support our portfolio of solutions and services.
Your role:
- Design, test, develop, deploy, maintain, and improve algorithm software assets, leveraging a solid foundation in Machine Learning and Generative AI technologies.
- Utilize large, cross-country cloud-based data lake-houses to derive relevant insights and develop algorithms for clinical care and patient management.
- Build end-to-end production level ML/AI solutions: from understanding business requirements, data discovery and extraction, model development and evaluation, to production pipeline implementation. Design and develop data visualizations and support customer data analytics processes.
- Deliver high-quality code through hands-on development, with meticulous attention to detail and adherence to the QMS processes of the relevant business unit. Transfer AI/algorithm knowledge to Product Developers and Professional Services teams through training sessions.
- Lead or support scientific discussions with regulatory agencies or notified bodies and ensure appropriate direction, interpretation, and dissemination of all generated evidence—including results for submission, abstracts, and peer‑reviewed manuscripts.
You're the right fit if:
- You’ve acquired 3+ years of real-world experience with machine learning algorithms for classification, regression, clustering, reinforcement learning, dimensionality reduction. You have expertise in one or more application domains of NLP, image processing, generative AI and time series analysis including knowledge of scaling AI using cloud technologies.
- Your skills include:
- Solid understanding of common statistical and machine learning techniques, both classical machine learning and Generative AI technologies.
- Skilled in Python ML frameworks, and at least one major programming language such as C#.
- Experience with application development practices and version control systems.
- Experience with working on big data pipelines and cloud solutions.
- Desired skills:
- Skilled in the use of AWS ML environments, with a focus on Sage Maker and Sage Maker studio.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Experience working with clinical experts to effectively interpret clinical research requirements. Relevant experience with healthcare data standards, e.g. FHIR, HL7.
- Experience creating data visualizations and presenting methods/results to stakeholders.
- You have a PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Informatics, Physics, Mathematics or related field.
- You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
- You have excellent collaboration and communication skills. Independent, results-focused doer who quickly takes ownership and moves projects forward. Fluency in English required.

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details
The pay range for this position in Cambridge, MA is $139,440 to $223,104.
The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
