Role Summary

The primary purpose of the Development Support Services (DSS) Associate Scientist is to develop and prepare tissue culture media and buffer solutions for the Andover WRDM community.

Role Responsibilities

  • Prepare stock and special request buffers and media for the Andover WRDM community.

  • Develop and test buffers and media to meet customer specifications.

  • Troubleshoot issues with media and buffer performance.

  • Develop formulation documents intended to serve as reference documents in the creation of Manufacturing Formulation Records

  • Participate in the technical transfer of buffers and media and their associated documents from PharmSci R&D to PGS.

  • Support raw material project estimates and placing RM requests.

Basic Qualification

  • Associate degree in a scientific discipline.

  • 0 to 2+ years of experience.

  • Chemistry laboratory practices and aseptic technique.

  • Math and algebra skills.

  • Data extrapolation and reporting

  • Excellent oral, writing and interpersonal communication skills

  • Problem solving

  • Work independently and organize work activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline.

  • One year or more experience in a similar role within Biopharma.

  • Experience working in a regulated environment such as Good Laboratory Practices.


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Stand for extended periods of time.

  • Climb stairs, kneel or crouch to retrieve items.

  • Lift up to 44lb(20L) and push and pull carts with contents weighing up to 440lb(200L).

  • Perform detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks, with frequent interruptions and under time constraints.
