Job Description
As a Software and Reliability Engineer you will be designing and developing software solutions to help doctors improve the detection and diagnosis of cancer. This includes observability/monitoring work to maintain the integrity of our infrastructure (Kubernetes/GCP) in the US region, and software development work on the Olympus clinical AI platform (video processing, interface development, integration with back-end AI systems).
You must be able to work well in a multi-disciplinary, global team, with members mainly in Massachusetts and the UK, and have strong communication skills. You should be familiar with state-of-the-art cloud computing technology and software development methodologies and be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You have a passion for technology, healthcare and improving the lives of others.
Job Duties
- Observability – monitoring, alerting and responding to production incidents.
- Solving deployment challenges of real time software solutions
- Follow the team process and lifecycle, adhering to best practices, coding standards, and version control guidelines.
- Utilize your expertise in C++ to design, develop, and maintain Windows applications. · Contribute to optimizing the core flow of applications, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain unit tests with a high degree of code coverage, ensuring that our code is rigorously tested and optimized for performance.
- Perform code reviews on other team members' pull requests, providing constructive feedback and guidance to improve the quality of our code.
- Working with a multi-disciplinary, international (USA & UK) team in a lean/agile development environment.
- Maintain compliance with applicable policies and procedures for areas such as Quality, Security, and Privacy, ensuring that our platform is secure and compliant with industry standards.
- Participate actively in sprint meetings, including planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to provide input and collaborate with the team.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- A college or advanced educational degree is not necessarily required for this position. We also value education achieved via work experience, coursework and training, and even self-guided learning.
- Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience working with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines & platforms (GitLab CI, GitHub actions etc.).
- Experience with using C++.
- Experience with multi-threading & DirectX is a bonus.
- Experience with additional languages and frameworks is a plus.
- Experience working in a regulated field, such as healthcare, is a bonus.
- Strong overlap with ET zone work hours, and some ability to overlap with UK work hours.
- Traveling to visit Olympus sites and customers is a part of this job.
- Expect to travel about once a quarter, with some international travel.
Preferred:
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality software solutions.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing project requirements and priorities.

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is $95,665.00 - $129,148.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position including: level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
