Job Description

The Solution Architect for Nova Applications is responsible for establishing and maintaining the architectural design and vision for the Nova Application Modules, and the development of a generic Nova Applications SDK. They will work closely with the Application Product Owners and Development teams to design and maintain an architecture that can deliver on the objectives set by the Nova Product roadmap. They will champion technical best-practices and oversee the technical health of the Applications’ codebases. They will be technical thought leaders who also communicate with various stakeholders to meet the needs of the business. They will produce detailed and comprehensive documentation artifacts which serve to align the technical delivery teams around a common architectural vision.

Job Duties

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish, maintain and champion an architectural design and vision that can deliver on the objectives set by the Nova Product roadmap.
  • Produce detailed and comprehensive architectural documentation artifacts.
  • Software Development
    • Create documentation, flowcharts, layouts, and diagrams to communicate architecture concepts.
    • Maintain compliance with applicable policies and procedures for areas such as Quality, Security, and Privacy.
    • Work with the engineering teams to break epics into actionable user-stories.
    • Perform code reviews on team members’ pull requests.
    • Provide software design and software design reviews for the team as necessary.
    • Champion technical best practices.
    • Maintain compliance with applicable policies and procedures for areas such as Quality, Security, and Privacy.
  • Communications and Stakeholder Management
    • Raise awareness of emerging technologies across teams.
    • Coordinate strategic dialog across technical community, with partners, and with Olympus leaders to drive and maintain alignment, support, and clarity on all areas related to Nova Architecture.
    • Enhance communication and build trusting relationships across teams to align with roadmaps, coordinate initiatives, manage risks and compliance responsibilities.
  • Improvements and Upgrades
    • Maintain a clear plan for future improvements to Architecture and supporting processes.
    • Maintain current awareness of general technology trends with potential to impact various strategic roadmaps.

Job Qualification

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Science, Computer Science, Engineering or other related field (or equivalent and related experience).
  • Advanced training and certification for Software Architecture.
  • Minimum 12 years of software engineering experience delivering SaaS in a cloud hosted environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a software architect.
  • In-depth knowledge of microservice architectures.
  • Hands-on programming experience using C#/.NET, TypeScript, and React.
  • Experience working in Azure cloud.
  • Broad understanding of technology topics such as (e.g., cloud products and platforms, micro-service architectures, automation, and API integration).
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases and database design.
  • Experience maintaining and developing with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Other Considerations (travel/hours availability, etc.): Overlap with ET zone work hours, and ability to regularly overlap with CET zone work hours.

  • There will be opportunities for travel, but it is not a requirement for this position.
