Current Need
We are seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to work within The US Oncology Network of McKesson. Anactivepharmacist license isrequired; an active pharmacist licenseinFloridaispreferred.
This is a part-time (0.5 FTE; 4 hours/day M-F) position.
Job Summary
Thispart-timepositionis responsible forremote order review andthe implementationand maintenanceofclinical pharmacy servicesforpractices withinThe US Oncology Network (The Network). TheClinical ReviewerPharmacistworks collaboratively with The Network practice(s), leadership,and McKessonteamsto implement processes and procedures to ensure the delivery of high-quality,comprehensive,cost-effective pharmacy services that meet regulatoryandquality obligations.
Key Responsibilities
In collaboration withpractice leadership,develops and implements strategies tooptimizeclinical efficacy,appropriate dosing, andtherapeutic interchange, reimbursement, and otherdrug use initiatives.
Implementsmutually agreedupon therapeutic and supportive caremedicationusechanges within the patient care setting.
Collaborate withThe Networkpracticesto implementP&T recommendationsandimprovementsforpatient safety.
Function asclinicalpharmacist forpatient-specific practice needs.
Identifybest practices within the electronic health recordfor medicationreview and suggestions for enhancements.
Leads the development of clinical practice metrics.
Report on clinical interventions and updates on key drug initiatives at practice P&T or applicable leadership meetings.
MinimumRequirement
Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.
Education
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), residency trainingpreferred
Active Pharmacist LicenseinFloridapreferred,flexibility in gainingadditionalstate licenses asrequired
Board Certified in Oncology (BCOP) preferred
Critical Skills
4+years ofpracticein oncologyclinicalpharmacyrequired
Active PharmacistLicense:Floridapharmacistlicensepreferred
Experience as oncology clinical pharmacistguiding sound drugutilizationstrategies
Experience developing and expanding clinical pharmacy services
Data analytic skillsrequired(primary literature, medication use trends, pharmacy practice)
Excellence in development ofarticulate persuasive arguments based on analysis and consensus recommendations
Experience insuccessful collaboration efforts with physicians, advanced practiceprovidersand other practice staff
Strong working knowledge of community oncology practices
Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint,Teams
Advanced presentation andcommunicationskills
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Practice development experience with community oncology practices highly preferred
Understanding of managed care trends, including step edits, prior authorizationworkflowand value-based care models a plus
Success managing ongoing relationshipsthroughremote communications and technology (phone, email, web conference, O365)
Strong orientation and commitment to external and internal customer service
Ability to work in a self-directed environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong critical thinking skills
Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize /follow-up
