TheSr. Manager, Supplier Engagementwill play a critical role in leading and advancing operations for the McKesson Supplier Engagement program. This role reports to the Director of Supplier Engagement and partners closely with Business Unit leaders, Sourcing & Procurement, Legal, Compliance, and external stakeholders to ensure McKesson’s objectives align with federal obligations, enterprise policy, and our purpose ofAdvancing Health Outcomes for All®.
As a senior individual contributor, you will serve as the primary operational leader for the Supplier Engagement team, responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of program initiatives, including process modernization and digital transformation. We are seeking aresults-drivenstrategic business partner whocreates value, provides efficiency, and ensures compliance with measurable impact across McKesson’s supply chain.The ideal candidate is aself-starterwho can independently manage priorities, with strong project management, writing and communication and skills.
KeyResponsibilities
ProgramManagement& Strategy
ExecuteMcKesson’s Supplier Engagement strategy, including annual goals, metrics, and continuous improvementinitiatives.
Contributetoaligning,shaping, influencing, and executing against enterprisepriorities.
LeadingSupplier Engagement operations, including intake, validation of suppliersize/status, stakeholder handoff, and issueresolution.
Serve as a SME and consultative resource to internal teams on supplier engagement policy interpretation, risk aware execution, and questions across theenterprise.
Partner with procurement and business stakeholders to integrate supplier engagement considerations into sourcing, RFPs/RFQs, and contractingactivities.
Compliance& Federal Contracting Support
Assist in administering McKesson’s,Federal,small business subcontractingand other regulatoryobligations, includinggood-faith outreach, documentation, and support for audits orreviews.
Ensure alignment with McKesson’s Supplier Engagementpolicy and classificationrequirements.
Process Improvement & Digital Transformation
Leadprocess improvement initiatives tostandardize, simplify,drive adoption of digitaltransformationtools,andautomate Supplier Engagementworkflows.
Partner with technology and data teams to translate business needs into scalable solutions, build dashboards, and create AI-enabledinsights.
Embed Supplier Engagement capabilities into enterprise sourcing, supplier management, and dataecosystems.
Monitor emerging regulatory,operational, and data risks and proactively adjust programexecution.
Stakeholder & Customer Support
Function asoperations pointof contact for Business Units, Indirect Sourcing & Procurement, Government Contracting, and Inclusion & Belonging.
Manage internal customer support models, including SLAs, SOPs, FAQs, and escalation protocols.
ExternalPartnerships & Outreach
Coordinate supplier outreach activities, programshowcases, match-making events,andinternaleducationand engagement activities to expand access to qualified smallsuppliers.
Identify, vet, and engageindividualsuppliers andsupplier-focusedorganizationsacross applicable federalclassifications.
Reporting & Data Management
Track, analyze, and report supplier metrics, including Tier II or internal reporting, ensuring data accuracy andusability.
Track program KPIs and prepare executive-ready dashboards andsummaries.
MinimumQualifications:
Bachelor’s degreeor equivalent experience
8+ yearsofexperience inprocurement,supply chain,strategic sourcing,compliance,program operations,government contracting, orrelated field.
Required Skills
An ability to operate with an enterprise mindset aligning local wins to enterpriseoutcomes.
Experienceleading complex, cross-functionalprogram initiativewithdemonstrated expertiseinprocess improvement, operational governance, and stakeholdermanagement.
Working knowledge offederal, state, orlocalgovernmentsubcontractingprograms, includingreporting andregulatorycompliance obligations
Stronganalytical, documentation, andcommunication skills, including the ability to translatecomplexconcepts,into clear, actionable plans and executive-readymaterials.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate dependencies, and drive execution in ademanding environment.
Strongattention to detail, with the ability to identify risks, gaps, and processinconsistencies.
Collaborative, customer-focused, and self-directed, with the ability to build relationships, adapt to ambiguity, and work effectively across matrixedteams.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with commercial and government or public sectorcontracting,including experience with Tier IIreportingand suppliercertification.
Ability to modernize processes and execute withpace.
Experiencemanaging or supporting supplier diversity orsubcontracting programs for a federalprime contractor, includingresponding togovernmentauditsandinquiries.
Demonstrated participation in digital transformation initiativesincludingevaluation, implementation, or optimization of procurement or supplier or vendor management technologyplatforms.
Familiarity withdata analytics, dashboards, or workflow automation platforms such as SAP, Ariba,Power BI,VIVA STARSSupplier portal,etc.
AdditionalKnowledge&Skills
Applied AI fluency - demonstrated use of AI assistants (Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT) and intelligent automation to accelerate program delivery, enhance forecasting, and drive decision-makingspeed.
Ability to influence, align, and drive outcomes without direct people management responsibility.
