Job Description:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Commercial Data Products, the Director of Commercial Data as a Service Products will play a critical role in achieving our product strategy within the Life Science Product Organization. This product director will be accountable for executing the commercial data-as-a-service product strategy, managing the product development roadmap, and overseeing product enhancements and customer support services to drive product sales and retention.

This leader will work cross-functionally with the data product foundations team, the technology team, and other key stakeholders, such as sales and marketing, to define product vision, business and functional requirements, and go-to-market strategies for specific product offerings. The commercial data-as-a-service offerings will be a combination of data products and insights leveraging various Ontada data and technology assets. Bringing these solutions to market will require a strong understanding of our commercial customers and effective communication to earn customer and stakeholder buy-in. This role will necessitate collaboration across teams of clinicians, researchers, data scientists, informaticians, and business development teams.

The product director will lead a team of talented data scientists and business analysts to develop, enhance, and deliver products to customers. This leader will be accountable for the development, launch, and go-to-market support for the commercial data-as-a-service product, as well as the ongoing delivery, customer experience, and organic product growth. The product director will be responsible for ensuring product accuracy and timeliness, data and analytics quality, product roadmap planning, adoption, and success tracking.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about unlocking business value with data and advanced analytics. This influential data-centric business role within a growth area offers broad scope to shape our data product offerings and user experience. This individual will also contribute to Ontada’s thought leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and own the roadmap from beginning to end for key commercial data-as-a-service products, driving product adoption and sales.
  • Translate insights from research, analytics, and user data into user stories, product requirements, features, and continuous product improvements.
  • Employ data analytics to measure product success and ensure adoption by focusing on user community needs.
  • Prioritize tasks for the data-as-a-service team to align with the product roadmap and growth plan based on market assessment and business needs.
  • Collaborate with the data products foundations team, Ontada technology team, and other internal teams to execute the product vision and development strategy, emphasizing speed to market and quality.
  • Support clients as a product leader, training the product team to address customer needs, articulate product value, and translate product insights into customer value.
  • Serve as the commercial product portfolio subject matter expert, providing necessary go-to-market content and training, and engaging in customer sales to drive product growth.
  • Collaborate with functional business teams (sales, sales operations, finance, marketing, technology, and end users) to identify key areas for improved efficiencies and customer experience.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the evolving market and competitive landscape for our commercial product portfolio to ensure strategic positioning and continuous improvement.
  • Set priorities and deliverables for teams to ensure timely delivery of quality products, maximizing customer experience and product adoption.
  • Lead and mentor a team to promote a high-performance and collaborative culture passionate about developing a product-first mindset.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Data Science, Healthcare, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Research Methods, or related fields.
  • 8-10 years of relevant real-world data, product, and analytical experience in life sciences or healthcare.
  • At least 3 years of experience in product development and delivery, including leading and growing a product delivery team.
  • 3+ years of people management experience.
  • Solid understanding of life science product commercialization, preferably related to oncology.
  • Driven self-starter with an appetite for new challenges.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to "tell a story".
  • Ability to work with diverse teams (Sales, Research, Developers) to convert product ideas into requirements.
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit; high energy level, sense of urgency, responsive, confident, thorough, and decisive.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$159,000 - $265,000
