Position Overview
The Platform Operations team builds native platform solutions that enable seamless and highly secure platform administration, management, and monitoring. This internship in the Database Platforms (DP) department will contribute to InterSystems cloud service infrastructure.
The Platform Operations team needs developers interested in DevSecOps and cloud services to support an exciting new cloud-based development platform. This position is in the InterSystems headquarters in Boston, MA.
Responsibilities
This developer will design technical solutions in collaboration with a small team of developers and the guidance of a dedicated mentor. They will be responsible for implementing a project following the team’s development workflow including use of source control, code reviews and clear documentation. This developer will be responsible for the quality of their code.
The technology stack includes C/C++, GoLang, YAML, ObjectScript, Docker, Kubernetes and InterSystems IRIS. The data platform is supported on Ubuntu containers, Windows, AIX, RHEL, SUSE Linux Enterprise, and Ubuntu. CI/CD pipelines are built with GitLab.
Position Requirements
- Interested in transforming our data platform products for cloud services
- Interested in cloud technologies like Kubernetes, Helm and AWS
- Interested in network security concepts, protocols and tools
- Interested in hardening applications and backend systems
- Demonstrated skill at driving results in a timely fashion
- Thrives in a self-driven environment with a small team
- Familiar with python, GoLang, Java or a similar programming language
- Working towards a degree in engineering or computer science
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiar with distributed systems concepts
- Familiar with system control theory
- Familiar with OTel and/or observability platforms
- Familiar with OAuth 2.0/OIDC
- Familiar with bash or similar shell
- Working towards a graduate degree
