Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

The Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) will be responsible for validating and verifying new software as well as enhancements to existing software for IntelyCare's web and mobile applications. They will ensure that we have a repeatable process and systems to thoroughly test and uncover defects, quality engineering uses best of breed tools for automation and testing frameworks in conjunction with in-house tooling, infrastructure, and services. SDETs are embedded in each agile development team to facilitate and lead the testing strategy and test automation requirements for every iteration and release. The quality engineering team also regularly meets to review and improv overall testing processes, automation, innovations and best practices.
*This is a hybrid position based out of our corporate office in Quincy, MA. We will not consider remote candidates for this position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive Test Plans and detailed Test Scripts with explicit expected results to provide test coverage
- Perform end to end testing for projects and coordinate with the offshore teams to maintain the testing timelines
- Automate test cases for API testing, and functional testing
- Create continuous process improvement within QE and Scrum teams and implement QE best practices
- Strong communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders
- Maintain and deliver proper reports and recommendations to address existing and potential improvements in the QE department
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and shift priorities successfully
- Passion for collaborative problem-solving, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills
- Identify areas for improved testing efficiencies, test automation and implementation of automated test solutions
- Constantly evaluate the test automation strategy and approach to identify areas of improvement (i.e. test automation frameworks, coding standards, etc.)
- Collaborate with developers on stories and write prolific test case code using JavaScript, etc.
- Develop and maintain efficient test frameworks and pipelines for performance, stress, and integration tests
- Collaborate in agile model as part of a team to develop fully automated test cases for functional, unit, and integration testing
Qualifications
- Must have 5+ years' experience as a QE/QA Automation Engineer
- Experience in testing Web and Mobile applications preferably in SaaS environment
- Must have solid experience scripting/programming with JavaScript
- Primary skills needed: JavaScript and Webdriver.io or Protractor
- Secondary Skills preferred – JMeter (API), Appium, Mocha, Cucumber framework experience
- Nice to have: AWS – S3, CodeBuild, EC2, HTML, Postman
- Knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Experience deploying code to Test environments using Jenkins, Bitbucket
- Familiarity with working in an Agile software development environment
