This role provides leadership and oversight to business operations in US and Canada to assure adherence to all aspects of internal company and external regulatory compliance. Ensures appropriate mechanisms are in place to comply with relevant laws and regulations, and adherence to corporate programs and practices. You will require the knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Non-lawyers providing leadership and oversight to business operations to assure adherence to all aspects of internal company and external regulatory compliance. Ensures appropriate mechanisms are in place to comply with relevant laws and regulations, and adherence to corporate programs and practices.

  • Oversees the USCAN monitoring plan and execution and leads the USCAN Monitoring team.

  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a discipline and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy. Basic knowledge of related job disciplines.

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information, developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

  • Jobs at this level function with some autonomy but are subject to functional practices and precedents or are covered by well-defined policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

  • Uses some judgment and has the ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated, day-to-day problems. Has ability to prioritize information for data analysis. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

  • Responsible for oversight of team who reviews and approves commercial activities and spending via the aggregate spend tool and review committees.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry, with a focus in compliance or legal functions.

  • Proven leadership experience, including supporting and collaborating with globally distributed teams.

  • Demonstrated expertise in monitoring and/or auditing within regulated environments.

  • Hands-on “player/coach” approach, capable of balancing individual contributions with team leadership responsibilities.

  • This is a hybrid role based in either Chicago or Milwaukee. On-site presence is required at least 3 days per week.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is essential.

Desired Characteristics

  • J.D./Masters degree preferred.

  • Post-graduate degree in law, business or another relevant field. CAS or other leadership program.

  • Knowledge of key laws/regulations (e.g., FCPA and other global ABAC laws/regulations, AKS/FCA) and/or core GEHC compliance processes, policies/procedures, tools, and controls. Lean or Six Sigma experience.

  • Process and detail-oriented, including strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.

  • Self-motivated with ability to handle a large and varied project load simultaneously, to multitask, and to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Highest personal integrity with demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters in a discreet and respectful manner that inspires trust.

  • Outstanding communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with people at various levels of the organization.

For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $148,800.00-$223,200.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
