Job Description
Responsibilities:
1. Lead China strategic planning process. As a senior leader in the China Corporate Strategy team, the Strategy Director will own and drive the end-to-end strategic planning process, including:
- Overseeing macroeconomic and medical equipment industry analysis in China.
- Leading competitor benchmarking and deep-dive assessments.
- Guiding and influencing business and functional leaders in developing medium- and long-term strategic plans and investment cases.
- Designing and aligning China strategy execution plans, setting strategic KPIs, and ensuring accountability across functions.
2. Drive high-Impact strategic initiatives. Based on China business priorities, lead cross-functional strategic initiatives as a senior PMO:
- Define project scope, timelines, and key deliverables in alignment with executive leadership.
- Conduct and oversee in-depth research on critical business topics (e.g., policy trends, customer segmentation, competitive landscape, pricing, new business models).
- Manage external consultants and internal teams, ensuring alignment and delivery.
- Facilitate strategic workshops to align stakeholders, evaluate options, and develop implementation-ready recommendations.
3. Oversee strategy execution and performance monitoring. Translate strategic plans into operational roadmaps and ensure execution through leadership and influence:
- Partner with BU leaders to define transformation milestones and ownership structures.
- Establish regular review cadences (monthly/quarterly) to track progress, identify risks, and resolve roadblocks.
- Provide executive-level updates and strategic performance reports to senior leadership.
4. Lead strategic communication and stakeholder alignment. Act as a key advisor to China CEO, CFO, and CMO on strategic matters:
- Support leadership in communicating China strategy and business performance.
- Collaborate with global and local communications teams to cascade strategic priorities across the organization and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university, advanced degree (MBA, PhD, MD) preferred. 10+ years of experience in strategic leadership roles, including:
- Corporate Strategy or Business Leadership in leading Healthcare / Medical Device companies.
- Strategy consulting with deep exposure to the healthcare sector.
- Cross-functional experience in Sales, Marketing, Commercial Operations, Supply Chain, or Digital/AI is a strong plus.
2. Proven ability to frame strategic issues, conduct structured problem-solving, and apply quantitative analysis.
3. Deep expertise in market analysis, customer segmentation, product strategy, pricing, and commercial operations.
4. Demonstrated success in leading complex projects and influencing senior stakeholders. Strong capability in managing cross-functional teams and navigating matrix organizations.
5. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese. Strong presentation and storytelling abilities for executive audiences.
