Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
AWS Cloud Cost Optimization (FinOps):
Lead AWS cost optimization initiatives using tools like AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Budgets, AWS Compute Optimizer, and Savings Plans.
Design and implement tagging strategies, budget alerts, and cost allocation models to improve visibility and accountability.
Analyze usage patterns and recommend architectural or service changes to reduce spend (e.g., right-sizing EC2, leveraging Spot Instances, optimizing storage tiers).
Collaborate with finance and engineering teams to align cloud spend with business goals and forecasts.
Build dashboards and reports using AWS Cost and Usage Reports (CUR) and third-party tools (e.g., CloudHealth, CloudCheckr, or Apptio Cloudability).
Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
Develop and maintain reusable IaC modules using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or CDK.
Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment of AWS services using CI/CD pipelines (e.g., AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions).
Implement self-healing and auto-scaling infrastructure patterns.
Security Operations (SecOps):
Integrate AWS-native security services such as AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, IAM Access Analyzer, and AWS Config into automation workflows.
Automate compliance checks and remediation using AWS Config Rules, Lambda, and Systems Manager Automation.
Collaborate with security teams to ensure infrastructure meets compliance standards (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE):
Build and maintain observability solutions using Amazon CloudWatch, X-Ray, OpenTelemetry, and third-party tools like Datadog or New Relic.
Improve system reliability through performance tuning, chaos engineering, and incident response automation.
Participate in on-call rotations and lead post-incident reviews to drive continuous improvement.
Strategic Leadership:
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cloud and DevOps engineers.
Evaluate and recommend AWS services and third-party tools to improve efficiency and scalability.
Contribute to cloud governance, architecture reviews, and strategic planning.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or DevOps roles, with a strong focus on AWS.
Deep knowledge of AWS services across compute, storage, networking, and security.
Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) and automation tools.
Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK).
Strong understanding of AWS cost management and FinOps principles.
Familiarity with AWS security best practices and compliance frameworks.
Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.
FinOps Certified Practitioner.
Experience with policy-as-code tools (e.g., OPA, AWS SCPs).
Background in software engineering or SRE.

For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $185,600.00-$278,400.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
