Job Description Summary

Responsible for managing business critical data engineering processes and data architecture solutions in order to enable analytical and reporting solutions. Responsible for analyzing and preparing the data needed for data science based outcomes. Also responsible for managing and maintaining metadata data structures besides providing necessary support for post-deployment related activities. Accountable to deliver results in a timely manner using agile methodologies.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Use aircraft manufacturer’s software, graphs, and charts to perform aircraft weight and balance calculations, climb performance calculations, and understand the impact of degraded aircraft capabilities due to loss of engine, excess drag, etc. Understand impact of aircraft performance as it relates to an aircraft’s ability to fly specific Instrument Flight Procedures (IFPs).
  • Review Notices to Air Missions (NOTAMs) and assess the impact of hazards to IFPs. Follow existing guidance to mitigate hazards, record actions for later audit, and notify stakeholders.
  • Review Aeronautical Information Publications (AIPs) worldwide, interpret changes relevant to existing IFPs, and communication applicable changes to Flight Path Designers (FPDs) for disposition.
  • From time to time, review existing policies, practices, and automation particular to aircraft performance engineering and NOTAM assessment to help decrease manual workload, increase system accuracy, and provide a better customer experience. Recommend, code, test, and document changes to existing automation.

Required Qualifications

  • A STEM bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, applicable to Aviation
  • At least four years of experience in aviation operations to include Aircraft Performance Engineer (APE), Certified Flight Instructor—Instrument (CFII) , Aircraft Dispatcher (DXP), Air Traffic Management (ATM), Air Traffic Control (ATC), Flight Path Design (FPD), or other similar, aviation-related work.

Desired Characteristics

  • Familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs or other similar global regulations) and relevant International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) guidance materials
  • Experience with Python and C# software development (formal or informal
