Job Description Summary

This is a customer facing role with internal interfaces to Project Management, Technical Design Engineers and Field Service Engineers. You will deliver on time and within budget all Projects, particular emphasis is placed on Planning, cost control, safety, quality and customer satisfaction. You will be the focal point for EHS communications across the region, including coordination of customer and internal health and safety policies and enquiries.

Essential Responsibilities

• As an experienced electrical engineer and you would have a proven record of technical ability in Field service/commissioning of in Power, Drive and Automation Systems at client sites - AC/DC & Light Rail background would be advantageous.
• To have a proven successful management record, working with customers, suppliers, sub contractors and our site teams is essential.
• To have training and knowledge of current Australian workplace health and safety regulations and practices and be able to demonstrate the application of these.
• To have a track record of managing major projects at site.
• Documentation and Quality systems are key to how we operate, you will have the ability to manage these and to ensure the site is successful with audits and internal Inspections.
• To produce as commissioned documentation in accordance with independently audited Company Quality and Safety Management Systems e.g. BS EN 18001 and Classification Societies e.g. Lloyds Register and DNV.
• Support the execution of initiatives whose aim is to reduce commissioning cycle times & customer complaints.
• Drive the whole cycle of the installation and commissioning phase, including but not limited to;
• Pre-I&C Phase planning and strategy
• Manage the pre-mobilization Kick Off Meeting
• Site readiness inspections and where applicable, coordinating post-FAT deliveries with the Project Manager and Lead Engineer from suppliers.
• Managing the performance of and coordinating with key subcontractors on site
• Ensuring all QA & WHS documents (e.g., Site Projects and Services Safety Plan) are complete and in place prior to the I&C phase commences and updating relevant documentation (e.g., SWMS, Hazard & Risk Assessments)
• Working alongside the Project Manager and Engineering Team, facilitating a clean and prompt handover to the Service Team upon completion. This handover should allow the local service team to provide after-market support to customer on an ongoing basis having required info on installed equipment.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Rail/ Infrastructure projects experience is preferred but not essential
• Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering couple with recognised Health and Safety qualification (Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety - BSB41419) and ideally a diploma in Workplace health and Safety would be essential
• Previous Site Management experience including a site installation or commissioning background is essential.
• Experience in testing/commissioning of DC switchboard, MV switchboard, transformer (rectifer/DC Chargers)
• Those with experience in mining projects would also be considered.

Desired Characteristics

• Valid Offshore survival training certificate,
• Familiarity with IEC and marine classification society rules.
• Some knowledge of programming techniques and languages.
• Marine and Offshore experienced. Clean Driving Licence.
• Experience with project planning software (e.g., MS Project/Primavera)
• Knowledge of Construction Industry WHSE and QA portals such as Aconex, ASite, Pegasus, Hammertech, Blueglue, Sassi
• Knowledge of HV switching procedures or be an Authorized Person.
