Summary
- The Medical Interpreter- Portuguese is responsible for providing interpretation and translation services for several products of the eClinicalWorks suite. This a part-time contract opportunity with eClinicalWorks.
Responsibilities
- Written translation from English to Portuguese or Portuguese to English for clinical documents like a test results letter, a visit summary, procedure prep instructions such as a colonoscopy, a transcript of a doctor-patient visit conducted in Portuguese and a transcript between a patient and a call-center agent for requests such as appointment scheduling or medication refills.
- Verbal interpretation for a conversation between a doctor and patient or for a patient and call-center agent.
- The medical interpreter will also be required to provide cultural information to the product team to facilitate the creation and adherence to needs of the language and meet regulatory requirements.
- Advise product teams on updating system translation capabilities to ensure accurate information transmission, cultural references, and other important nuances of Portuguese is being translated.
- Help product teams update, grow, and change dictionary of the current product’s Portuguese language to include new words, terms, phrases, and other information.
- Reviews the work of others to ensure accurate translation to Portuguese
- Researches and understands terminology used in medical practices and medicine which may include but not be limited to legal, technological, scientific, and/or medical terminology.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of medical translation experience
- Bilingual in English and Portuguese
- Have a Medical Interpretation Certificate
- High School Diploma
- Must have a quiet space to work from home with a good internet connection
Compensation:
Salary Range - $30-35/hr.
If you are hired, your base rate will be determined based on factors such as professional background, skills, education, and experience.
