The Marketing Data Strategy position is a pivotal individual contributor role that will enable our B2B and B2C marketing strategies by architecting and optimizing our data infrastructure. Data is critical for the foundational and functional operations of the Enterprise Marketing Evolution program, B2C and B2B prospecting campaigns. To support these operations this role will design, implement, and maintaining our marketing data domains/systems and data assets to ensure accurate, reliable, and actionable insights. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, they will translate business requirements into scalable data solutions that drive informed decision-making and enhance marketing performance. This role is expected to identify and initiate opportunities for innovation, data quality enhancements, process improvements and automation all contributing to enhancing the operational excellence of the team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relevant data domains and data architecture of our marketing data and analytics assets/landscape, ensuring alignment with business objectives, compliance with security standards and privacy regulations, scalability, and data governance principles
  • Design and architect data solutions that support various marketing functions, including customer segmentation, campaign analysis, performance tracking, campaign reporting & analytics
  • Design data solution and oversee to it that the solution is being implemented as per design to integrate of data from multiple sources, including CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, web analytics tools, and third-party vendors, to create a unified view of marketing performance
  • Design and optimize Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to ensure efficient and timely data extraction, transformation, and loading into our data warehouse assets
  • Implement data quality checks and validation processes to maintain the integrity and accuracy of marketing data in our data landscape
  • Develop monitoring tools and processes to track the performance and health of our marketing data infrastructure, proactively identifying and resolving issues
  • Work closely with marketing teams, data domain leads, data analysts, and IT professionals to understand requirements, prioritize projects, and deliver solutions that meet business needs
  • Create and maintain documentation for logical data models, Data Flows, and data lineage to ensure transparency and facilitate knowledge sharing
  • Create a respectful and growth-mindset environment for team members. Coach, guide, and support data team members as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in Data Architecture in medium to complex data landscape
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Base Design & Modeling
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Integration (ETL, ELT)
  • 5+ years of experience in developing Data Solution Architecture and detail designs (interfaces, etl/elt, data structures, security design, data quality validation processes)
  • 3+ years in developing Data Architecture capability roadmaps
  • 3+ years of experience in supporting Data Analytics and Data Science teams for their data needs
  • 3+ years of experience in working in fast paced agile environment
  • A data strategy and architecture practitioner & leader with understanding of various data and analytics capabilities and technologies – Experience with Data Analysis, Tableau, PowerBI, SQL, Snowflake, Databricks, Python
  • Last role must have been of a Data Strategist or a Sr. Data Architect
  • Proficient user skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Proven solid written and verbal communication and presentation skills to help non-technical audience(s)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Marketing Data & Analytics experience
  • Health Care Insurance experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
