You will put your Data Science skills to work as you empower business partners and team members improve healthcare delivery. You will research cutting edge algorithms and technologies, and design innovative solutions to solve business problems that only a Data Scientist can.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Be an active and curious member of the UHC Employer and Individual Advanced Analytics team
• Link with the Network affordability team(s) on adhoc requests and affordability opportunities
• Deliver on tactical data requests & issues for UHC E&I affordability
• Participate in sprints, gather requirements, and deliver results to key partners
• Link with the Data Engineering team to productionize key dashboards and/or data products as required
• Understand existing tools and processes to help create a long-term strategy for sustainable analytics in a scaled business, offering ease and efficiency of data visualization, and transfer for business users.
• Create repeatable processes that are easily replicated by multiple team members
• Document analytics processes and procedures to support training and business continuity
• Interpret analyses for business leaders and equips them with the knowledge to make data-driven decisions
• Prototype new products and solutions that have the capability to transform the industry
• Ability to articulate and paint a vision, with strong communication and presentation skills, as well as strengths in translating highly complex concepts, results, models and technologies in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
• Be familiar with the state-of-the-art around big data analytics and associated technologies and techniques
• Work closely as part of a small team, sharing ideas and contributing to the strategic goals.

Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in computer/maths/statistics/actuarial/data science/physics
• Proven experience in analytics/data science/actuarial in a business context
• Demonstrated experience using programming to solve complex technical problems
• Demonstrated experience accessing data from various data environments

Preferred Qualifications:

• Extensive programming experience with SQL/R/Python/Pyspark or other analytics languages
• Strong communication skills
