The Optum Health Real Estate Partner will serve as a market leader for the real estate client relationship manager team supporting Optum’s patient facing facilities.  This role will focus on enabling business objectives through real estate solutions.  This role will develop and implement long-term real estate strategies for Optum focused on optimization and cost reduction. This role will manage strategy and have oversight to the development and delivery of real estate and capital plans using a fact-based decision-making process.  This role will synthesize real estate recommendations for executive level review.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Establish trusted advisor relationships with local and market clinic care delivery leadership
  • Serve as a strategic consultant and contact for strategic real estate planning, performance management and financial management across Optum’s clinic portfolio
  • Serve as a strategic consultant and contact for real estate planning, performance measurement, and financial management of the clinic portfolio
  • Act as business liaison to understand business objectives and translate into real estate plans, actions, and solutions
  • Responsible for growth and management of the communications channel between business units and Optum Health Real Estate
  • Evaluate care model, business demand, market factors, risks, and overall corporate objectives in recommending real estate actions 
  • Effectively communicate the financial impact of long-term Real Estate decisions in business terms
  • Work with senior staff to guide and advise business units through effective clinic planning and forecasting activities including strategic growth management
  • Analyze opportunities for portfolio improvement and present compelling business cases in a timely manner to achieve agreed upon schedules and guide business leaders through real estate decisions
  • Collaborate effectively with Real Estate Business Partners and assigned business and finance leaders
  • Facilitate issue resolution to enable a high credibility factor between Business and Optum Health Real Estate
  • Establish solid understanding of market trends in the office and medical real estate field and keep up to date on current events related to medical office locations including acquisition pipeline
  • Support the development and management of portfolio plans for assigned business.  Set meeting agendas and successfully support fact-based decision process
  • Support real estate change management efforts within customer business units

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Care Management, Real Estate Strategy or related real estate field
  • 10+ years of general business or varied real estate experience
  • Working real estate experience (Capital Planning, Projects, Transactions, Facilities)
  • Proven solid interpersonal and communication skills with a variety of levels within an organization
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to use data to drive decisions and provide fact-based decision support
  • Demonstrated flexible and creative thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Proven solid financial analysis skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare effective, concise presentations
  • Proven effective, experienced leader of cross-functional teams
  • Ability to deliver results through best practices and consistent service delivery

  

Preferred Qualifications:         

  • MBA
  • Experience with a focus on clinic or healthcare real estate

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $101,200 to $184,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
