Senior Manager – Advanced Analytics and Insights

Sr Manager to support multiple, parallel consulting engagements leveraging medical claims data to address Pharma marketing client needs.

The Position:

Conceptually, this role will be the ‘bridge’ between Analytics and Delivery—translating between the client-facing function and the data-science / Analytics functions within the company. The successful candidate will be richly immersed in client-facing communication channels and build the technical specifications to ensure client needs are properly understood and managed by Analytics. Conversely, the role will translate Analytics output back to a client-ready format, acting as the primary quality control function between Analytics and Delivery.

Strong communication skills/language, coupled with strong quantification skills, an uncompromising attention to detail, and sound technical capabilities/competency are critical to success.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Create and manage detailed, dynamic specification documents, at the claims-code level, for communication of project requirements between client-facing and Analytics functions
  • Serve as primary point of contact with the Analytics function, ensuring that details of project requirements, and client needs, are properly understood and translated into coding and analytical strategies
  • Develop client-ready communications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Undertake self-directed research into various disease states – understand and document project-relevant disease information, e.g.:
    • Epidemiology / Patient demographics
    • Symptomology
    • Co-morbidities
    • Treatments and medical procedures
  • Assist with the development of strategies, methodologies, and project plans for leveraging medical claims data to deliver against Pharma marketing client needs
  • Travel requirement 20%

Qualifications

  • BSc, with focus on quantitative, scientific, or IT discipline
  • 5+ years working in a professional environment dealing with healthcare claims, healthcare consulting, and/or data analytics.

Skills

  • Good understanding of medical claims data and codes, and applicability to Pharma marketing challenges
  • Experience working in coding languages and technologies used in medical claims data science (Scala, Python, R, SQL)
  • High level of proficiency in all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with superior organizational logistics, and time management skills.
    • High competency with Excel – ability to manage large data sets by e.g. sorting, pivoting, and interrogating using logic and text functions
  • Confident, clear communications (oral, written, PowerPoint)

Why we love Definitive, and why you will too!

  • Industry leading products
  • Work hard, and have fun doing it
  • Incredibly fast growth means limitless opportunity
