As the Director of Software Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the connectRN platform and the impact it has on the healthcare industry. This position requires a unique blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for innovation. You will lead a team of talented developers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure our technology not only meets but exceeds the needs of our users.

You will...

  • Provide visionary leadership for the software development team. Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure the successful execution of technology initiatives and alignment with the company’s goals.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of software developers. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Work closely with product management, UX/UI design, quality assurance, and customer support teams to ensure the platform meets market needs and delivers a superior user experience.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technology trends and best practices within the healthcare industry and the tech world at large. Advocate for and implement innovative solutions that enhance our platform's capabilities and performance.
  • While this role is leadership-focused, you will be instrumental in reviewing, troubleshooting, and suggesting improvements for our development processes. Your hands-on experience is vital for guiding the team through complex challenges and ensuring technical decisions align with our overarching goals.
  • Leverage your understanding of Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) methodologies to enhance our development and quality assurance practices. Your expertise will guide the team in adopting best practices for test automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery, contributing to the overall reliability and performance of our platform.
  • Ensure the platform is designed for high scalability and robust security. Lead initiatives to implement scalable architectures and secure coding practices, safeguarding data and ensuring the platform can handle growing user demands seamlessly.

You have...

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a technology-focused organization.
  • Proven track record of leading and scaling software development teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with modern programming languages and frameworks relevant to web and mobile application development. React, React Native, Go, JavaScript, Lambda, Aurora, GitHub, Jira
  • Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on a comprehensive understanding of strategic business needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of motivating and leading teams while collaborating effectively across the organization.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry or a two-sided marketplace platform is highly desirable.
