Senior Engineering Manager (Deerwalk, Inc., Burlington, MA, subsid. of Cedar Gate Tech.): Senior Engineering Manager formulates and deploys operational and strategic planning, including business requirements and continuity, for Deerwalk’s product platform. The manager is responsible for managing the day to day, sprint and roadmap activities of the development and testing teams involved on the platform. Senior Engineering Manager position’s daily duties include: collaborate with business leaders and customers to capture requirements, prototype solutions, assess defects, troubleshoot issues, provide workarounds and come up with long term durable engineering solutions; supervise development, testing and enhancements to Deerwalk’s product platform; participate and manage sprint loading, sprint management and sprint improvement SDLC activities; act as primary point of contact to service ad-hoc requests and troubleshoot reported outages. Correspond with all depts and report production outages to reliability teams; direct the of conversion of high level requirements into prototypes and building proof of concept APIs and applications; set up and troubleshoot SAML 2.0 federation for customers to enable Single Sign On (SSO) to Deerwalk Platform; coordinate with the Platform Operations team in strategizing monitoring, alerting and scaling for an array of Deerwalk’s load balanced and auto-scaled infrastructure; perform Architecture review, technical design review and approve engineering solutions with Grails and big data technologies including Hadoop, Cascading, Spark and Elasticsearch; and lead offshore teams in building tools to benchmark performance and leverage application usage data in Elastic APM, AWS Kibana and AWS Xray to collect user engagement and satisfaction metrics. Daily use of the following methodologies and technologies: AWS (EC2, RDS, Lambda, SQS, S3, SNS, Code Commit, Redis, CloudWatch, QuickSight, Opensearch, Redshift), ElasticSearch, Kibana, Grails, Cascading, Hadoop, Spark, Python and Java.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent degrees accepted) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or any closely related field of study, and must possess no less than 2 years of experience in any related positions performing all aspects of data management, analysis and engineering of healthcare claim systems and with EMR data for the U.S. healthcare industry.
