Summary
Cedar Gate Services is seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain our database systems, including back-up, performance tuning, capacity planning, monitoring, and reporting critical events and documentation. This hands-on role requires strong technical expertise combined with effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain database instances across development, testing, and production environments.
• Monitor and optimize database performance
• Manage database backups, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures using SQL Server Backup/Restore and maintenance plans
• Implement and monitor jobs, alerts, and notifications
• Perform regular index maintenance, statistics updates, and query performance tuning
• Create and manage T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, and triggers
• Ensure data integrity, availability, and security by implementing access controls and auditing policies
• Assist in database design, normalization, and data modeling with developers
• Maintain documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices
• Support upgrades and patching of SQL Server environments, including migration to newer versions

Required Experience / Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA
• Proficient with SQL Server 2016 or later
• Strong command of T-SQL and experience writing efficient queries
• Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and database monitoring tools
• Knowledge of backups, restores, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
• Familiarity with security practices, including authentication, roles, and permissions
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
