UAT Quality Analyst (II or III DOE)

Telecommute Option - Must reside in ID, OR, UT or WA

WHO WE NEED

UAT Quality Analyst role is responsible for assuring that all Business functional testing activities are completed within a particular Business work stream and delivered with high quality while ensuring no KPI’s are negatively affected.

UAT Quality Analyst II applies analysis of business functionality to increase the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of processes for both current and future business needs. Often involves working and consulting with business system matter experts, and information technology staff to define business work processes, application data requirements, application configuration, and system functionality.

UAT Quality Analyst III is responsible for assuring that all Business functional testing activities are completed within a particular Business work stream and delivered with high quality while ensuring no KPI’s are negatively affected. Able to lead teams across many Business functional areas while delivering quality outcomes and adhering to the Project timelines.

Preferred Key Experience:

  • Some experience in testing cycles, UAT, and/or general SDLC environments (PREFERRED)

  • PMP certification, and/or experience in project management (HELPFUL)

  • Comfortable and skilled in working across a diverse matrix of teams, identifying key information and adapting communication styles depending on the audience.

  • Comfortable and skilled in doing individual research (on program websites, large working session meetings, documentation) in order to extract key information pertinent to their duties

Normally to be proficient in the competencies listed below

The UAT Quality Analyst II would have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration or related field

  • 3-5 years of business, health insurance or general health industry experience

  • 3 years of experience in defining and analyzing business requirements, process modeling, and acceptance testing

  • 1 year experience effectively writing and running queries to support UAT activities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The UAT Quality Analyst III would have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration or related field

  • 5-7 years of business, health insurance or general health industry

  • 5 years of experience in defining and analyzing business requirements, process modeling, and acceptance testing

  • 1 year experience leading and delivering quality UAT in support of corporate projects. Experience effectively writing and running queries to support UAT activities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

YOUR ROLE:

  • Understand the overall business work stream from a business user’s perspective.

  • Apply industry-standard methods to develop and execute UAT, regression and end to end functional tests.

  • Review of business requirements, system requirements, architecture and design documents, and preliminary test planning.

  • Collaborate with peers to ensure adequate test coverage and efficient UAT execution.

  • Report test results, submit defects and verify defect fixes.

  • Effectively use required testing tools.

  • Define and prepare test data.

  • Compiles final testing documentation and prepares it for Bundle Release.

  • Provide support for production of Go-live/post implementation activities.

Additional for UAT II:

  • Select, schedule, train, and coach Business Test Team. Provide access to systems and tools.

  • Advise Product Owners in identifying Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for assessing project success.

  • Act as an information resource about assigned area for Quality Assurance and other UAT Analysts.

  • Collaborate with peers to ensure adequate test coverage and efficient UAT execution across multiple Business areas.

  • Participate in process improvement efforts.

Additional for UAT III:

  • Responsible for the appropriateness, quality, and timeliness of all aspects of the project, manages the production of project estimates, develops project plan and schedule, establishes measures and milestones, tracks ongoing progress, while proactively managing risks, issues, scope and human resources through the project life-cycle.
  • Plan and lead business’s test activities, acting as project manager for business-related quality activities, deliverables, issues, status reporting, and resources for the project.
  • Ensure quality of UAT deliverables across full project lifecycle.
  • Functions as a Business area expert to answer questions and address issues on the operation of an application which may come from staff or management.
  • Coach and mentor other team members.
  • Use metrics to understand process effectiveness, quality and UAT progress. Initiate process, practice and tool improvements.
  • Collaborate with development partners to identify quality goals, constraints and risks. Create appropriate plans, contingencies and mitigations.
  • Lead UAT defect triage, including prioritization of testing based on Business impacts.
  • Create quality UAT testing strategies, estimate resources, schedules and manage execution of planned UAT activities.
  • Monitor UAT progress; eliminate obstacles, report progress and recommendations to project and senior management.



WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Knowledge of healthcare insurance domain and Facets experience required.

  • Ability to identify process changes and impacts to end user operational procedures.

  • Ability to elaborate business requirements into effective test cases for total functional coverage.

  • Ability to define and execute test cases, and write test scripts from business requirements documentation confirming that systems meet business objectives.

  • Ability to react quickly and remain productive in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Ability to work within a team and independently while remaining agile and adaptable to constant change.

  • Ability to verify defects identified via testing are effectively recorded, communicated and understood.

  • Experience with a functional business area that is supported by this position (i.e. claims processing, membership processing, customer service, etc.) preferred.

Additional for UAT II:

  • Knowledge of software development and project methodologies including Agile.

  • Able to prioritize test cases on a risk- based testing approach.

  • Ability to perform analysis of production defect leakage metric and use data collected as a tool for improved future functional testing.


Additional for UAT III:

  • Demonstrated ability to select and apply appropriate industry-standard processes and practices to prevent and detect defects throughout the software development lifecycle.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand processes related to effective quality UAT.

  • Vast knowledge of testing techniques to cover all possible testing validation.

  • Experience using programming languages, software tools, and/or a variety of desktop applications.

  • Proven ability to validate test data preparation and verify all teams are aligned with what needs to occur to build/prepare the business functional tests, regression, and end to end testing.

  • Ability to create quality UAT testing strategies and manage UAT project activities across multiple Agile teams or functional Business areas.

  • Competency in effectively applying formal company-approved project management methodology to accomplish the goals of the project.

  • Demonstrated strong cross-functional communication, problem-solving and collaboration skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and guide team members.

  • Recognized as an expert in at least one functional Business area or Agile team.

  • Ability to summarize UAT status , develop execution metrics and escalate issues as necessary to Management.

  • Ability to understand operational measures affecting functional business areas and measure through testing against defined KPIs.

The expected target hiring range for the UAT II position is 73k – $99k, UAT III position is $81k – $110k, depending on skills, experience, education, and training; relevant licensure / certifications; performance history; and work location. The bonus target for this position is 10% . The current full salary range for the UAT II position is $ $68.5k Low Range / $86k MRP / $112k High Range, UAT III position is $ $76k Low Range / $95k MRP / $123.5k High Range.
