We are looking for a Senior Manager of Engineering to join our athenaCollector team and work on our Submissions initiative.

The athenaCollector product is a vital component of the athenaOne platform, empowering our medical provider clients to efficiently manage their business and revenue cycle (RCM) by automating claims and billing for over $200 billion in client revenue. This team is dedicated to pioneering new workflows and initiatives.

The athenaCollector processes over a million claims daily, reaching hundreds of payers through electronic, paper, and fax submissions in various required formats. We are currently modernizing our entire submissions platform and are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to spearhead multiple developer teams. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a highly skilled and experienced team of developers, driving innovation and excellence in our modernization efforts.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in building teams, attracting talent, developing career paths, and fostering a culture of innovation in similar high performing teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple scrum teams, ensuring that both individual performance and team goals are met while aligning with the overall product line objectives.

  • Foster the growth of your team members, both as engineers and individuals, to make their roles at Athena the "best job ever."

  • Maintain a deep understanding of product architecture, manage dependencies, and ensure the delivery of high-quality releases in collaboration with product management and other engineering teams.

Typical Qualifications

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

  • Possess over 10 years of experience leading teams in a product company, with a strong command of modern object-oriented programming languages, Unix/Linux systems, relational databases, and various technologies including modern JavaScript frameworks.

  • Proven track record of nurturing and developing employees professionally, maximizing each individual's potential, and having a keen understanding of team dynamics to foster opportunities for growth and learning.

  • Demonstrated success in delivering outstanding results, effectively balancing priorities to ensure timely delivery, and showcasing excellence in leading teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
