Senior Associate, Product Management – Data-as-a-Service
We are looking for a Product Management Senior Associate who will fill a critical role on our product management team. You will be partnering with senior business and product leadership to do great things. You will focus on growing the athenaOne suite of products by providing cloud-native, scalable, secure database services that enable our product engineering organization to build great applications faster than ever. The Team:
The Data-as-a-Service team provides the databases that are powering the latest features of athenaOne, our suite of EHR, RCM, and patient engagement solutions and services. The athenaOne offering is rapidly growing, expanding in areas including our medical specialty-specific workflows, value-based care capabilities, extended revenue cycle management services and the athenahealth Marketplace. To support that growth, athenahealth is transforming how we build and run our products and services. The team is leading the transformation of our data, building the new database service that will enable our product engineering organization to build great applications faster than ever. The team works with stakeholders across our athenaOne Engineering, Product, Design and Cloud Engineering & Operations organizations.
The Opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Product Manager to help guide product development and delivery for the athenahealth Data-as-a-Service team.
You will work closely with the product leadership team: understand end users and leadership goals; prioritize the product roadmap for your team; collaborate with engineering to ensure delivery of high-quality, high-impact features; and drive rollout and adoption in partnership with product operations and client-facing teams.

The Product Manager is responsible for assigned product area within their overarching Product’s portfolio; understanding the market and customer, contributing to a product vision, developing business cases, ensuring a product or set of product features meets business requirements and driving the creation and delivery of the product. In this role, you will serve as the Product Owner working daily with scrum teams defining and writing user stories, prioritizing product backlogs and making trade off decisions between scope and schedule.
This is a hybrid role based in our Boston office with an in-office expectation of one day/week.
Education, Experience, & Skills Required
Bachelor’s Degree required; Degree (Bachelor’s or Masters) in healthcare related field, business, computer science or engineering preferred
2-5 years overall professional experience with a focus on working with stakeholders across cross-functional groups
Understanding of product management best practices, including agile development environments, preferred
Understanding of healthcare / health IT environment preferred
Understanding of cloud computing platforms, especially AWS, preferred
Demonstrated success at driving innovation in a dynamic environment using analytic and quantitative capabilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Behaviors & Abilities Required:

Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills, with energy & enthusiasm for solving unknowns
Appreciation for the software development process and the varying personalities in the cross-functional groups we work with

Ability to prioritize and to multi-task in a face paced environment, manage several projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and communicate potential conflicts to manager
Infrequent travel required, predicting 5%; may include site visits, conferences, and trainings
