Brief Overview:
This role involves overseeing the development team, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Development Manager to lead our data platform scrum teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, and a passion for delivering high-quality data solutions.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor a team of developers, providing guidance on best practices and career development.
- Oversee the software development lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business goals.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to design and implement robust and scalable software solutions.
- Work closely with product managers, QA teams, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment on project objectives.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team productivity and software quality.
- Conduct code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality and adherence to development guidelines.
- Provide regular updates on project progress and team performance to senior management.
- Work with team members to resolve blockers and issues, providing technical guidance and contributing as an individual contributor when required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 12+ years of IT experience in data warehouse domain and projects, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Jira).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience building data pipelines and knowledge of cloud data warehouse (DWH) technologies.
- Experience building reports and a good understanding of end-to-end data warehousing projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in healthcare industry.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices.
