Brief Overview
The Senior Software Engineer will play a critical role within the engineering organization here at Amwell. We're looking for a passionate, results driven Principal Software Engineer to work on our cloud-based health care solution. The successful candidate will have a track record of leading software development projects in a continuous delivery-based environment.
Our software combines the best elements of the web, video, and telephony to bring patients and health care providers together in innovative new ways.
Core Responsibilities
- Design and implement new functionality for Amwell’s Next Generation Software.
- Drive quality and best practices into development through design and code reviews.
- Active contributor throughout all SDLC from design, through development, release and ongoing operational support in the cloud.
- Engage effectively with Architecture, Product, Visual Design and UX.
- Mentor and lead junior and mid-level engineers.
- Evaluate processes, tools and approaches to potentially incorporate into how we develop products to ensure we are always learning and improving
- Work under minimal supervision; will be provided with assignments and objectives and given wide latitude for independent judgment
- Ability to operate effectively in a fully remote environment.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of full stack software development experience with strong exposure to JavaScript (TypeScript, Angular, NodeJS)
- 3+ years of delivering highly scalable cloud-based applications.
- Enterprise-level experience with Relational and NoSQL databases such as Postgres / MongoDB / Redis / DynamoDB
- Fluent in writing unit tests, integration tests and component testing.
- Experience with writing cohesive and focused microservices using Java Spring Boot or NestJS.
- Experience with cloud-based application management in AWS or similar technologies.
- Proven track record of mentoring others, have the desire and ability to provide team members with the technical guidance needed to grow professionally.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and shifting requirements.
