AHP is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Director of Compliance to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity to shape and oversee the compliance framework of a dynamic consulting organization dedicated to improving behavioral health and human services systems. The Director will play a pivotal role in ensuring that AHP’s operations, projects, and partnerships meet the highest standards of integrity and accountability—across federal, state, and contractual requirements. This hands-on leadership position blends strategic oversight with day-to-day collaboration, guiding staff, subcontractors, and clients in maintaining ethical, compliant, and effective practices across all lines of business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Compliance Program Development and Implementation

  • Design, implement, and maintain AHP's company-wide compliance programs, policies, and procedures to meet regulatory standards and government contracting industry standards.

  • Ensure compliance programs are communicated clearly to all employees and effectively enforced.

  • Monitor evolving regulatory requirements and revise compliance programs, polices, and procedures to meet evolving legal or regulatory changes.

2. Regulatory Monitoring and Reporting

  • Stay current with relevant laws, regulations, and funding agency requirements (e.g., FAR, CFR, state procurement).

  • Interpret regulatory changes and communicate implications to leadership teams.

  • Prepare internal compliance reports and external submissions as required by clients, auditors, or funding entities.

  • Coordinate responses to compliance inquiries, data requests, and audits.

3. Training and Development

  • Provide regular compliance training to employees at all levels on compliance-related topics, emphasizing real-world application in consulting environments.

  • Create up-to-date and relevant accessible tools, templates, and job aids to support compliance awareness.

  • Reinforce a culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability throughout the organization.

4. Internal Audits and Investigations

  • Conduct regular monitoring of company compliance and cooperate with internal and external auditors and reviewers to ensure integrity of audit and review process.

  • Support teams in documenting compliance activities and preparing materials for client reviews or audits.

  • Ensure that all audit findings are addressed promptly and effectively.

5. Risk Management and Investigations

  • Identify, assess, and manage compliance risks within the organization.

  • Conduct or coordinate investigations of potential compliance breaches and oversee corrective actions.

  • Track and manage remediation activities to ensure timely and effective resolution.

6. Collaboration and Advisory Role

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, program directors, and support teams on compliance issues.

  • Collaborate closely with Legal, HR, Finance, and IT to ensure cross-functional compliance efforts are aligned.

  • Provide periodic reports to the General Counsel regarding the nature, progress, and status of the compliance program and related activities.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

  • 7–10 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or regulatory roles, preferably in a consulting or government contracting environment.

  • Proven knowledge of federal and state compliance frameworks, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Code of Federal Regulation (CFR).

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop practical compliance solutions that align with organizational needs.

Preferred:

  • Certification such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), or similar.

  • Experience with compliance management systems or risk tracking tools.

  • Familiarity with data privacy, cybersecurity, or grants management compliance frameworks.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Knowledge

  • In-depth knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Code of Federal Regulation (CFR), and state/local procurement requirements.

  • Understanding of government grants and contracts administration, risk management principles, and data privacy laws across multiple states.

  • Familiarity with compliance management systems and a working knowledge of risk management frameworks.

Skills

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for varied audiences (executive, project, client).

  • Proven ability to design and deliver training and compliance education.

  • Proficiency in compliance or risk-tracking systems, Excel, SharePoint, and related tools.

  • Strong facilitation and negotiation skills to resolve complex compliance issues.

Abilities

  • Ability to interpret and operationalize complex regulatory requirements in a practical consulting context.

  • Ability to foster collaboration across departments and build trust with clients and partners.

  • Ability to lead with integrity and model AHP’s GUIDE values.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

This position may be based in any AHP office or remote, with periodic travel for meetings, audits, or training. The Director, Compliance must be able to work collaboratively across departments and respond promptly to client or project needs in a dynamic consulting environment.

Location

All work must be performed within the United States or its territories. Employees are required to reside in, and carry out their job responsibilities from, a location within the U.S. or a U.S. territory for the duration of their employment. Limited exceptions may be granted for short-term personal or business travel outside of these areas, subject to prior written approval and in compliance with company policy.

Salary Range: $165,000 - $185,000

AHP, in an effort to be transparent with applicants about salary and in compliance with various state pay disclosure requirements, publishes the following information, which is current as of the date of posting. The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the AHP salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be high or low in the range based on various factors, including but not limited to location, experience, and education. The range listed is just one component of AHP’s total compensation package for employees.

Work Authorization Requirement

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. AHP is currently unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position is primarily sedentary and requires the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while operating a computer and other standard office equipment. The role involves frequent communication via video conferencing, email, and other digital platforms. As such, employees must have access to a reliable and secure internet connection that supports remote work responsibilities, including video meetings and the use of cloud-based systems.
