Advocates for Human Potential, Inc. ("AHP"), is seeking a Research Assistant to join our team of leading researchers in behavioral health studies. This position will be located in AHP’s Sudbury, MA office. The Research Assistant will be expected to work in the office at least three days a week.

Position and Responsibilities

This Research Assistant position will work primarily across projects, conducting a range of field operations, data collection and management, and administrative functions. Specific responsibilities are listed below.

• Participate in data collection, data entry, and data quality/integrity tasks.
• Enroll, track, and conduct in-person interviews with study participants.
• Meet regularly with the project team to discuss interviewing, data collection and quality, and any difficulties.
• Maintain interview incentive, participant tracking and other project-related databases.
• Assist with qualitative interviews with study participants, program staff, program stakeholders.
• Print, compile and mail paper interview packets.
• Act as a liaison between the evaluation and program staff regarding data collection, submission, and all related questions.
• Contribute to literature reviews, reports, and other written work products.
• Assist with proposal writing and submissions.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, sociology or other related field, and previous experience with field studies in behavioral health (e.g., internship) are strongly preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Experience conducting interviews and other data collection activities, including Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) data is a plus.
• Experience working directly with individuals who are currently or have experienced life challenges such as homelessness, substance misuse, mental health problems and/or child welfare involvement.
• Experience working or volunteering in direct service settings, non-profit agencies, or publicly-funded treatment programs, such as homeless shelters, outreach programs, community-based mental health centers, etc.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to perform duties that require close attention to detail.
• Ability to quickly establish a good rapport and a respectful and empathic relationship with study participants.
• Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary team members, and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisor, technical staff, and community-based and other partners.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and citation management software. REDCap experience preferred.

Salary Range: $46,000 - $50,000

AHP, in an effort to be transparent with applicants about salary and in compliance with various state pay disclosure requirements, publishes the following information which is current as of the date of posting. The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the AHP salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be high or low in the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and education. The range listed is just one component of AHP’s total compensation package for employees.
