Advocates for Human Potential, Inc. (AHP), a national behavioral health consulting firm, is seeking a multitalented candidate to serve as a Staff Accountant. This position will play a role in various areas of the department including payroll, accounts payable, and client support. Your work helps ensure our projects run smoothly and our vital work reaches those who are in need.

This position will also play a pivotal role in the processing of accounts payable and all daily accounting activities. Those who apply should be exceptional communicators who are comfortable speaking on the phone and able to work efficiently within an expanding department and company. There will be opportunities to take on more responsibilities within AHP as proficiency in the primary tasks is attained. Overall Responsibilities

Payroll:

  • Post timesheets in timekeeping system (Deltek) on a weekly basis
  • Maintain, update and verify the accuracy of all employee information in Deltek and Paychex systems
  • Submit bi-weekly 401k information and payments to 401k provider
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and accounting teams
  • Resolve any employee matters involving payroll
  • Other payroll tasks as assigned

Accounts Payable:

  • Process weekly vendor and employee expense payments
  • Administer paperless AP process and respond to all inquiries
  • Verify vendor information as requested for all California-based projects
  • Bi-weekly and monthly report generation
  • Complete and submit required federal or state filings
  • Register AHP in new
  • Participate in month end reconciliation process
  • Other tasks as assigned

Grantee/Sponsor Support

  • Confirm grantee banking information in accordance with AHP’s internal control processes and procedures
  • Serve as primary point of contact for Sponsors from CA projects and resolve questions related to the established bank platform
  • Work with Project Accountants to initiate transfers to Sponsor bank accounts within the bank platform

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products, especially Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task, manage priorities effectively and adhere to stated deadlines
  • Maintains a team-oriented, can-do attitude
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Sense of humor

Salary Range: $58,000 - $65,000

To be transparent with applicants about salary and in compliance with various state pay disclosure requirements, AHP publishes the following information which is current as of the date of posting. The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the AHP salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be high or low in the range based on a range of factors including but not limited to location, experience, and education. The range listed is just one component of AHP’s total compensation package for employees.
