The Senior Consultant II is an expert in public health with specific experience in engaging with populations affected by HIV/AIDS and Opioid Use. The Senior Consultant will work on several large projects with high strategic impact to the organization. The Senior Consultant will be responsible for providing expert technical assistance and training to relevant stakeholders such as: clients, grantees, funders, subcontractors, etc. The Senior Consultant will also deliver large-scale training and technical assistance at high-strategic impact venues. This could include: conferences, symposia, webinars, learning collaboratives or other events. The Senior Consultant will also provide coaching, consulting, support and expertise to internal stakeholders in their areas of expertise.

The Senior Consultant Will:
Training and Technical Assistance
- Provide individual TA around multiple areas of expertise inclusive of improving HIV care, best practices in opioid treatment, and substance use care in the public health space to grantees, funders, subcontractors, other external stakeholders, or project teams and other internal stakeholders.
- Lead the development of print guidance and deliver large-scale training and technical assistance to internal and external stakeholders around public health nursing topics such as HIV, Federally Qualified Health Centers, and Substance Use Treatment
- Provide coaching, consulting, support, and expertise to clients, TTA recipients, and other stakeholders as they roll out new programs, policies, or initiatives.
- Serve as a facilitator for internal or external expert panels, working meetings, and TA sessions, including development of purpose, agenda, scope, implementation methods, and evaluation.
Strategic Planning
- Provide leadership in strategic planning support to AHP clients whose focus aligns to area of public health, HIV care, substance use, or healthcare process improvement.
- Analyze data and use it to make recommendations to program leadership and to inform program activities.
- Participate in strategic planning, prioritization, and new business development.
Leadership
- Provide thought leadership across the Center for Training, Technical Assistance, and Consulting (CTTAC) around area of expertise:
- Educate staff on specific areas of subject matter expertise as requested.
- Mentor, educate, and model for junior staff.
- Provide support to content creation across relevant projects.
- Consult with project teams to ensure relevant projects are completed with relevant subject matter expertise.
Business Development
- Leverage personal and professional networks to create a pipeline for business development.
- Serve as a leader on sales calls targeted toward personal area of expertise, creating a pitch strategy and supporting the account-based management team in delivering the pitch strategy.
- Serve as a task lead in the creation of proposals for funding.
- Maintain partnership with account managers around relationships with current, past, and potential clients.

General
- The Senior Consultant must have experience with nursing care in a public health setting such as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Community Clinic, Government Agency, or Nonprofit Organization
- The Senior Consultant must have experience in care provision or program development for individuals with HIV/AIDS such as Ryan White Program
- It is preferred that the Senior Consultant have experience with substance use treatment or within an opioid treatment program.
- Superior knowledge of nonprofit, behavioral health, or government leadership, including recruitment and retention of staff, development of staff, program development and oversight, and budgets
- Highly sophisticated organizational development and cross-system collaboration
- Extraordinarily high-level diplomacy, coaching, and leadership without organizational chart authority, including maintaining client and stakeholder engagement and relationships.
- Extraordinarily high-level professional communication, in both verbal and written presentation for diverse audiences.
- Facilitation of diverse groups to a common plan of action.
- Sophisticated ability to draw out others’ description of problems or gaps, helping them to identify needs.
- Ability to quickly synthesize information in their area of expertise and apply it to problems or gaps within the portfolio of interest and in business development contexts.
- Outstanding ability to manage multiple competing priorities while remaining available and flexible to identify and address needs as they are identified.
- High-level ability to research and write draft reports, meeting summaries, and educational resources.
- High-level ability to develop and deliver training and presentations using subject matter expertise and adult learning strategies.
- Ability to serve as a model of how to present content knowledge effectively and compellingly for both internal and external stakeholders, fulfilling contract obligations and creating further opportunity for the firm in the process.
Technical
- Proficiency or ability to quickly become proficient with Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint
Education and Training
Candidates for this position are preferred to possess a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a Registered Nursing license in any US state. Extensive professional experience may be substituted for education.
Professional Experience
The Senior Consultant I will have 5 or more years of highly complex applicable work experience. The Senior Consultant II will have 10 or more years of highly complex applicable work experience, or 5+ years of experience as a nurse manager, clinical nurse educator or nursing director. Years of experience in consultation and/or training and technical assistance may be substituted for clinical or leadership experience.

Salary Range:
Senior Consultant I $100,000 - $115,000
Senior Consultant II $110,000 - $125,000

The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the AHP salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be high or low in the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and education. The range listed is just one component of AHP’s total compensation package for employees.
