What You Will Achieve
Your technical skills will help us develop and support robust softwares to streamlining Pfizer’s R&D operational workflows and enabling data-driven decision-making. You will apply your full-stack software engineering skills in modern web user interface design and development, analytics pipelines, and database technologies to digitize drug discovery processes that bring breakthrough medicines to patients. You will work closely with Vaccine R&D stakeholders to align the solutions with the evolving needs of the scientific community while ensuring system usability, robustness, scalability, and maintainability.
How You Will Achieve It
Develop ideas and lead projects across subdivision and manage plans to achieve objectives.
Use knowledge of industry, customer requirements and general business environment to enable delivery of projects and programs, leveraging both standard commercial roadmap patterns as well as innovative technologies across a range of systems disciplines.
Responsible for the creation of technical designs and implementation plans.
Manage stakeholder expectations on project scope, deliverables, and timelines. Work in a matrix, team environment with Pfizer colleagues (both Digital and R&D) and vendor partners.
Mentor junior software development team members on best practices in software development.
Responsible for release management of related platforms.
Work with the infrastructure and shared service organizations to procure and manage stable application platforms.
Work in a matrixed team environment with Pfizer colleagues as well as vendor partners by participating in vendor management activities.
Embed Continuous Improvement and automation into daily work and develop a DevOps culture in the team.
Qualifications
Must-Have
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, bioinformatics, or related fields, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
12+ years of full-stack software development experience in the biopharmaceutical realm.
Programming skills in JavaScript, Java, Python, SQL, NoSQL, or other languages.
Proven experience working with business teams developing and delivering strategy and operating plans with demonstrated competency in strategic thinking, and relationship management
Experience managing teams of contract or colleague resources
Ability to take a systematic approach to the estimation of technical project
Experience with HPC and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, and Azure, and familiarity with container technologies such as docker and singularity.
Exhibits a high level of business knowledge and understanding of the external marketplace and anticipates business line or sub-function customer requirements
Ability to lead in a complex, matrix environment with geographically distributed resources
Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish relationships, influence outcomes, and deliver effective presentations to a variety of audiences
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
Nice-to-Have
Advanced degree (MS, Ph.D.) in computer sciences or bioinformatics
Extensive experience in modern JavaScript frameworks and tooling
Experience with designing and implementing microservices.
Experience with LIMS and Lab Automation Systems.
