Job Description
The Manager GI EndoTherapy Global Marketing Strategy will help shape the future portfolio of the Gastrointestinal EndoTherapy (GI-ET) Device Business. The initial focus of this role will be twofold – 1) to help the business unit identify and prioritize digital programs to be integrated into the new product development pipeline and 2) to help identify and prioritize opportunities for global portfolio expansion. This role will require close collaboration with members of the Global Upstream Product Marketing team, the Digital Strategy team, the Strategic Marketing team, and the Business Development team to create, implement, and align strategies and tactics for pipeline programs. These activities will help to inform the priorities for internal R&D development and early-stage research, as well as helping to identify and evaluate external opportunities for partnership, co-development and/or acquisition. Some of the key areas of focus include forging strong partnerships with healthcare professionals within the worldwide Endoscopy community, expertise in identification of user requirements, knowledge of AI/Machine Learning, interpretation of voice of customer feedback, clinical knowledge, value proposition and health economic awareness, business case development, and the execution of global strategies.
Job Duties
- Responsible for collaborating with Product Marketing and Olympus Digital team members to identify and prioritize digital programs that can be integrated into the product development roadmap.
- Interact with leading HCPs to develop “Voice of Customer” perspectives on the digital programs that are prioritized.
- Collaborate with members of the Olympus Digital and Business Development teams to identify and evaluate external partnership, co-development and M&A opportunities.
- Create and present detailed investment theses for priority programs, including robust market models and detailed/creative PowerPoint slides.
- Develop and maintain expertise by attending procedures, courses, workshops, and tradeshows.
- Become an expert in market dynamics, competitive landscape, and global industry advancements.
- Work closely with Global Marketing and Worldwide Sales Business Centers to identify opportunities for geographic expansion of current and future product portfolio.
- Establish strong cross functional relationships with Clinical, Regulatory, R&D and HEOR functions that will help to better define global and digital focus projects.
- Closely collaborate with Global Commercialization counterparts to plan, track and evaluate global expansion product launch performance and sales post product launch.
- Set the strategy and prioritization for life cycle management and sustaining activities to be in alignment with ET Business Unit Strategic Executive Director and the ET-BU Deputy BU Leader.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of Business Experience (R&D, Downstream/Upstream Marketing, Sales, Strategy) required. Minimum of 5 years preferred.
- Experience in medical device Marketing - preferably in a Global role and/or Endoscopy area of expertise.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfortable presenting to different audiences including experience presenting to Executive Management Teams.
- Ability to travel within the domestic U.S & Internationally
Preferred:
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to be a team player.
- Excellent creativity and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience leading early-stage investment theses, including development of business case financial modelling reimbursement value proposition.
- Strong analytical skills; with demonstrated financial and strategic capabilities.
- Expertise in user requirement identification customer input VOC & market research
- Strong clinical knowledge and aptitude; comfortable in working with physicians in an operating room and clinician office environment.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and a drive for results
- Highly effective at dealing with change and ambiguity as business needs shift responding well under pressure and demonstrating flexibility while ensuring compliance.
