About the Role:
We are seeking a Product Owner to lead the delivery of digital solutions supporting Patient Services, including patient support programs and specialty pharmacy systems.
In this role, you will become deeply embedded in McKesson Canada’s service offerings, building strong knowledge of patient support programs, internal workflows, and Biopharma Manufacturer needs. You will serve as a key partner in translating business priorities into scalable digital products that improve patient access, outcomes, and operational efficiency.
Your primary focus will be on Biopharma Manufacturer priorities, integrations with our patient support program and specialty pharmacy platform, and ensuring solutions effectively support both internal teams and patient needs across the healthcare ecosystem.
What You’ll Do:
- Own and prioritize the product backlog, aligning delivery with patient, client, and business needs.
- Develop and communicate a clear product vision and roadmap for Patient Services technology.
- Become a subject matter expert in McKesson’s patient support programs and Biopharma services, including internal and customer-facing processes.
- Partner closely with stakeholders to understand and translate Biopharma Manufacturer priorities into product features and enhancements.
- Lead the design and delivery of solutions that integrate patient support programs with specialty pharmacy and healthcare systems.
- Translate requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and detailed product documentation.
- Drive Agile delivery through Sprint planning, backlog grooming, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with engineering, UX, and data teams to deliver scalable healthcare technology solutions.
- Ensure products effectively support patient data workflows, integrations, and compliance requirements.
- Lead UAT and release activities, ensuring quality and business readiness.
- Monitor product performance and leverage data insights and KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
- Act as a bridge between business, technology, and external partners to enhance the end-to-end patient experience.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in Product Management or Product Ownership.
- Proven experience as a Product Owner within healthcare technology environments.
- Experience working with patient support programs, specialty pharmacy systems, or healthcare platforms.
- Strong understanding of patient data, healthcare workflows, and data privacy considerations.
- Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience managing product backlogs, user stories, and documentation requirements.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (engineering, data, UX).
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Experience in Biopharma Manufacturer programs or health benefits environments.
- Exposure to system integrations (APIs, EMR/EHR, pharmacy systems).
- Experience with digital health platforms or enterprise healthcare technologies.
- Background in patient support program operations or specialty pharmacy services.
- Strong stakeholder management across clinical, operational, and external partner groups.
- Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.
Work Arrangement & Travel:
- Hybrid role – required to work in-office a minimum of 2 days per week.
- Occasional travel may be required for stakeholder or partner engagement.
- Standard office environment with extended computer use.
