Responsibilities

Humana’s Corporate Marketing organization is looking for a Senior Product Owner to join the Marketing Regulatory and Operational Communications (MROC) team. If you are ready to join the team of professionals responsible for Humana’s success in delivering messaging to members through print, email, SMS/Text, VAT, etc., then this just may be the role for you!

As part of the Senior Product Owner team, the candidate will be a relationship builder, serving as a liaison between Marketing and MROC.

Key Role Functions

  • Partners with business strategy team and consults on marketing and communication delivery strategy. Communicates vision and goals to the internal teams so they can create actionable stories

  • Look for enhancements to the messaging to achieve the strategy/goal

  • Identify campaign opportunities to simplify, automate and consolidate across LOB

  • Manage and prioritize incoming requests, backlog and change requests

  • Collaborates with other Agile teams, as needed, for dependencies, alignment, and prioritization

  • Works with project management team and communication owners to close the loop upon closure of the campaign/communication

  • General understanding of all LOB’s and their annual strategy to look for synchronization and eliminate duplicate efforts. Create a consistent consumer experience across all LOB’s

  • Work to build out annual and quarterly roadmaps in partnership with business strategy and develop incremental planning meetings

  • Provide consultation around channels and audience targeting and will reroute when appropriate (i.e – letter builds, translations, provider communications, VAT, SMS, etc.)

  • Develop and communicate the sprint goals, and make sure the acceptance criteria is met

To be successful in this role, you will be a self-starter with strong organizational skills, thorough and demonstrates initiative and follow-through. Additionally, you will possess a highly collaborative mindset and excellent relationship-building skills, including the ability to engage many diverse stakeholders and SMEs as well as high attention to detail with excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • 3+ years of communications, marketing, product owner (indirectly or directly) or related experience

  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) certification

  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills, who is thorough and demonstrates initiative and follow-through

  • Highly collaborative mindset and excellent relationship-building skills, including the ability to engage many diverse stakeholders and SMEs

  • Possesses high attention to detail with excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated skills leading and/or influencing cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Aprimo and/or EMME

  • Previous project management experience

  • Previous end-to-end communication experience within Humana

  • Agile experience

  • Requirements documentation/story creation experience

Additional Requirements

All Humana associates approved for the Home or Hybrid Home/Office work styles are required to self-provide wireless, wired cable or DSL access to the internet at the connectivity speeds required by the company to successfully perform their job with the exception of associates who live or work from home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota. Connectivity requirements are detailed below.

Connectivity – Requirement Details

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended to support Humana applications, per associate.

  • Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL connection is suggested.

  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if they provide an optimal connection for associates. The use of these methods must be approved by leadership. (See Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL Connection in Exceptions, Section 7.0 in this policy.)

Humana will not pay for or reimburse Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates for any portion of the cost of their self-provided internet service, with the exception of associates who live or work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota. Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


$93,000 - $128,000 per year


This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
