Director, Pharmacy Product Go to Market Strategy

Job Description:

Reporting to the VP, Product and Digital Strategy, the Director, Pharmacy Product Go to Market Strategy is responsible for defining, building, and executing go to market strategies related to new and existing product launches for the CarelonRx Prescription Benefit Plan. This individual contributor Director role will work in a hybrid way from any US Elevance Health Pulse Point.

How you will make an impact:

  • Partners with the CarelonRx Product team to define and develop product portfolio go to market strategy for integrated pharmacy and medical client business as well as external client sales, operating within the Product Lifecycle Management process.

  • Duties include defining and leading market assessments, client segment strategy, pricing and positioning, competitive assessments to inform the product introduction strategy and plans.

  • Collaborates with the Product Manager and internal key stakeholders across the commercial medical business and Carelon to inform and co-create/collaborate on impactful go to market strategies that maximize growth and align to the long term growth plans. Key stakeholders include: Sales/Account Management, Marketing, Operations Product, Network, Clinical, Member Experience) to evaluate and specifications, drive priorities, create plans, and develop target market and client segment-related strategies.

  • Performs ongoing competitive assessments, market assessments and strategy analyses to make strategic recommendations.

  • Translates the strategy into defined tactics, priorities, and actionable go to market strategic plans to help lead new product and enhanced product launches.

  • Influences internal partners to collaborate on joint go to market and segment driven approaches to increase sales growth of new and existing products.

  • Responsible for upsell strategy and growth, partnering with Sales and Account Management across CarelonRx and the Commercial medical to ensure delivery against Plan Targets.

  • Evaluates product portfolio sales/adoption at the client segment level to inform pricing and product recommendations.

Requires a BA/BS degree in a related field and a minimum of 8 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Highly preferred experiences:

  • Health Care background - specifically Prescription Benefit Manager experience preferred.

  • Health Care consultant experience in pharmacy is highly desired

  • Experience creating long term growth plans, market strategy and strategic planning for high growth businesses

Desired Skillsets:

  • Strong Executive level communication skills

  • Can translate complex concepts into simple terms through story telling

  • Strong financial skills in pricing and business case development

  • Marketing or product experience focused B2B thought leadership and market research

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity

  • Strong crucial and strategic thinking

  • Proven success delivering market insights and driving collaboration with cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed organization

  • Knowledge and experience in buyer persona development

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Experience launching new health care/pharmacy products to market

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $115,440 to $207,792
