Position Title:

Risk Contracting Strategy Dir

Job Description:

Responsible for providing strategic leadership for assigned region around expansion and adoption of risk contracting arrangements, including plan design, creation, management, and strategic planning in coordination and collaboration with multiple matrix partners.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Support/lead effective complex risk contracting and specialty value-based agreement negotiations for all lines of businesses across throughout the region, including FPCC and risk deals.

  • Actively participate in network strategy meetings, develop multi-year strategy/pipeline for risk contracting, and reports results through various venues to the leadership team.

  • Guide/direct the implementation of risk deals to ensure clean, effective execution to increase provider confidence in taking on risk, in support of the company's strategic goals.

  • Identify providers partners to move to risk and makes recommendations to local value-based contracting lead/team and enterprise partners.

  • Assist in identifying best practices in managing risk deals and effectuate best practices to drive company results.

  • Serve as a regional mentor by training, educating, and coaching value based contracting associates on negotiation tactics, best practices, lessons learned, etc.

  • Support local markets in identifying/standing up provider partnerships that incorporate an element of risk.

  • Collaborate and coordinate with shared business partners, including but not limited to Finance, Actuarial, IT, and HCM, to achieve outcomes and establish improvements/enhancements.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of leadership/management experience in health care management, marketing products, and managing significant business results; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experience:

  • MBA strongly preferred.

  • Previous P&L and/or project management experience in health care setting; excellent quantitative, marketing, financial, and strategic skills strongly preferred.

  • Travels to worksite and other locations as necessary.
